I dont like Federer at all and think he is one of the most overrated of all time greats who was super lucky with timing. Dont get me wrong, he is outstanding player still, but he could easily be only a 4 or 5 time slam winner without certain factors working in his favor IMO, and I laugh at the Sampras comparisions since I think Sampras at his peak would school him. Nadal is really a far more talented overall player IMO and it is nice to see him taking over the mens game.

Don't agree with...any of that, actually. It was a great match, but I thought that was largely because Federer was off his game. He was just sloppy, hitting relatively easy balls into the net time and again. That was the only disappointing part of the match, imo.

 

Federer kicks Sampras's ass. Straight sets, baby.

Watched the match was high quality, was pretty peculiar though for a grass match as ground strokes seemed to reign supreme and net game was some what subdued.

 

The shocking part was that even though it was almost entirely played from the baseline, Federer was still able to stick with Nadal. Once I started watching and saw that Federer was not getting to the net I thought Nadal would just finish him off, but Federer actually almost pulled it out.

 

As for Federer versus Sampras, I dont believe that Federer is as good. They both have similar games, but I dont believe Sampras losses to Nadal on grass. I doubt Sampras would get away from his staple serve/volley game.
