whitesoxbrian
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 25, 2008 -> 10:38 PM) The Swisher trade was a right size, wrong shape transaction. It was a brilliant move by KW to get rid of 3 top prospects that the organization has huge questions about. However, it's just too bad those resources went for Swisher and not someone who would be more productive at this point of the season. I think although the way I typed it it came out wrong, I think that's what I was implying.

His power numbers had been going down and he is a sub career .250 hitter, doesn't run much and is average at best defensively. His one claim to fame is he seems to be able to draw walks when the holes in his swing are not being exploited. We traded away 3 very notable spects...Even if Gio and DLS never make the show, we could have moved them for a FAR better package than Swisher. Swisher is a solid role player who gives great interviews, and is a decent 7th hitter or at best 6th hitter, but IS NOT a player you deal your 3 best prospects for.
