whitesoxbrian
Koufax-- I mean Stults- shut us out.
southsideirish71
8th shutout of the season, 3 less than all of last year. Another never seen kid who 4 hits us. Kershaw awaits.
fathom
Anyone have a list of starting pitchers who have shut us out this season (or at least started the game)?
whitesoxfan101
We've been shut out and shut down by some trash this season, but that was as bad as it gets. Four hits, no extra base hits, one walk, no runs in 9 innings against what is really a minor league journeyman. A series win on the road would still be a positive with how we have played away lately, but that was sad to watch tonight.
whitesoxbrian
QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jun 25, 2008 -> 10:30 PM) If we only had Torii Hunter! Look, by no means would he have saved us, but he'd be a definite upgrade of what Wise, Anderson, and Swisher have collectively given us this year. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 25, 2008 -> 10:30 PM) Anyone have a list of starting pitchers who have shut us out this season (or at least started the game)? Frankensteiner
BTW, can we please put a pre-emptive stop to any Cy Young-ification of Kershaw if he shuts us down tomorrow. The guy is a highly touted prospect but he can be hit (4.34 ERA, 1.55 WHIP). Pathetic ass Cleveland scored 4 runs in 5 innings against him last start. Tomorrow's lineup should be: OC Alexei Q Dye Swish Crede Hall Wise P
fathom
Tigers won....Sheffield looks fantastic at the plate. Just a horrible day of baseball.
greg775
Anemic. Putrid. Only a blind optimist would think first place is ours for long. Lotsa problems with this bizarre baseball team. Winning this series tomorrow would be a positive going into the Flub series, one some posters will claim they don't care about winning for some strange reason. joejoesox
Kershaw could easily no-hit this team tomorrow.
Swingandalongonetoleft
Stunning performance. We should sign guys like Stultz for whatever it takes- purely to throw bp to our hitters. Another sad tidbit: those near no-hitters of Gavin's feel like those dreams you're having when you doze off only to forget everything that took place. Sucks, I really want that to start happening again but our "offense" just doesn't warrant that. Just when I was forgetting how it felt to see Hall in the lineup last year, frickin Ozuna at third takes me down memory lane. greg775
Kershaw could easily no-hit this team tomorrow Now ain't that the truth. I guess we also could score six runs like we did in Game One. Maybe?? Please?? Hopefully?
claydude14
So the Twins are a 1/2 game out. How far were they out when we swept the 4 game set? Embarrassing.
greg775
I wouldn't call it embarrassing. It was a miracle we were that far ahead. We need to start bopping home runs in every game. It's our only hope. These guys refuse to manufacture runs.
joejoedairy
QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Jun 25, 2008 -> 11:47 PM) Tomorrow's lineup should be: OC Alexei Q Dye Swish Crede Hall Wise P If Crede is still unable to play that will leave toby hall in the 5 spot. That is a frigtening thought.
bjm676
Good thing I fell asleep during the game. Maybe it was the game itself that put me to sleep. Who knows. It was really boring.
kapkomet
Ozzie had the quote about how they don't hit pitchers they haven't seen well. To me, that is a very basic scouting issue -or- they have some pretty pigheaded players that don't want to listen to scouting reports, or both. It's been a problem since I can't remember when with this team.
