Let's see...a washed up dump that servers crappy drinks in plastic cups (most of the time) and no/bad food... vs A bar with real beers on tap, served in real glasses, and decent bar food to boot... Uh...hmmm....yeah. Sorry, but that's no contest IMO. And I was born in and still live in Bridgeport, and don't care...I've always thought Jimbos sucked and still do. As it stands right now Mitchells 7 days a week and twice on Sunday before I'm forced to go to Jimbos even once. Oh and... I am sure there are a good handful of Cubs fans in the Sox's vicinity, but can they sustain a bar over the long haul? I am not so certain. If JB were to open in Bridgeport, it would have to be careful not to alienate Sox fans, especially considering how much business they could be turning away 81 days out of the year, not to mention the other 81 days the Sox are on the road and locals want to go out to a friendly bar to watch the game. If you think about it, this is one of the big things we Sox fans have pointed to for years as the real reason there are so many Cubs "fans". They are more fans of Wrigley than the team and with that said, it is even more the neighborhood that makes them fans. You can get thrown out of a bar for being too drunk and end up landing in another bar on your way out. If more fun establishments open in Comiskeyville, it could support attendance figures, especially in down seasons, just like it has for the Cubs since the mid-80s. Go ahead and call it a Cubs bar and see how well that sticks. How many cubs fans do you see traveling 8 miles or more south to watch the Cubs at a bar? Believe me, over the years, I've witnessed Bridgeport change, and to this day I am still witnessing the changes. The problem with this logic is, by the time that area develops in that manner, I will no longer care, especially considering I'm going on 33 and will be getting married this September...so basically, that time of my life is past...and for that matter, good riddance to that time...my 30's have been far superior to my 20's...and I'm expecting my 40's to follow suit.
