Cowch
Thank God Cedeno didn't hit one too. I would have been WAYYY pissed.
Greg Hibbard
I love how Hawk was just trying to put it on the offense that they didn't "go for the jugular" by putting more than 8 runs up how about gascan contreras doesn't just give up home run after home run

Swingandalongonetoleft
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 27, 2008 -> 03:35 PM) If we somehow make the playoffs please tell me Jose will be a long reliever and not start a game. Why? He's been serviceable (to say the least) all year.

fathom
QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jun 27, 2008 -> 10:35 PM) It's 8-2, relax. I've seen the Cubs come back from huge deficits far too often this season to think it's in the books.

GoSox05
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 27, 2008 -> 04:37 PM) Serviceable doesn't cut it in the playoffs. I think it would depend on who's hot. Contreras could be hot come October and someone else cold.
Greg Hibbard
QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Jun 27, 2008 -> 03:37 PM) did he necessarily mean the offense though? In the context of how he originally brought the point up the previous half-inning, yes.
Wanne
Tell ya what...next Cub home run...next dude up needs to get one right under the chin. I s*** you not.....I'm tired of this crap. This back-to-back stuff is bulls***.
fathom
QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jun 27, 2008 -> 09:38 PM) No one said it's in the books. However, it's the 5th inning, and Contreras gave up 2 runs. Did you really think he was going to shut out the Cubs today? Especially with an 8 run lead? He is pitching to contact at this point. With a lineup like the Cubs, runs are going to happen at some point. No no, you just wanted someone up in case the Cubs started a rampage like the 4th inning last week. That is all. Nice to see him rebound.

SoxFan562004
I'm not overly concerned with the two homeruns, the Cubs are an excellent offensive team and the Sox had a 8-0 lead. He unfortunately fell behind in the counts and instead of walking them he made them get hits and they did. Hopefully he's on a short leash in the 6th
