Charlotte is tied 6-6 in the 9th right now, Richar with 4 hits on the night so far, his average is up to .270. Broadway got roughed up though, 6 runs (4 earned) and 9 hits in 6 innings of work. Ozzie Ball
Garret Johnson's had a very nice start to the season, 12.1 IP, 19K, sub 1.00 WHIP, 0.73 ERA. He's not that old either at 20 (21 in September). Just looking at his MiLB.com page and he's huge, 6'10", 205 lbs. Anyone know anything about him, stuff-wise? whitesoxfan101
Richar and Bourgeois finally waking up. Despite the loss tonight, I still like Carlos Torres more and more as time passes, but that Barons lineup without Cook is just brutal. Also, it's good to see Shirek and Hunt doing well at Kanny. TomPickle
QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Jun 27, 2008 -> 09:18 PM) Garret Johnson's had a very nice start to the season, 12.1 IP, 19K, sub 1.00 WHIP, 0.73 ERA. He's not that old either at 20 (21 in September). Just looking at his MiLB.com page and he's huge, 6'10", 205 lbs. Anyone know anything about him, stuff-wise? From Baseball America's recap of the Sox 2006 draft: 29 885 CWS Garrett Johnson lhp Orme HS, Mayer, Ariz. AZ Lefthander Garrett Johnson moved to Arizona this year when his stepfather became the head of the private Orme School. Johnson led Orme to the state finals in basketball but has more upside in baseball because he packs just 205 pounds on his 6-foot-10 frame. Johnson's fastball sits in the 82-85 mph range, but his size creates plenty of deception for hitters and plenty of interest for scouts. He's fairly athletic but is still figuring baseball out. He's likely a draft-and-follow candidate.

maggsmaggs
QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 4, 2008 -> 02:34 AM) Um, Brent Morel 5-6. Thats awesome. Also, 7 SBs to 0 CSs. 6 BBs to 7 Ks. Very good numbers, would like to see a bit more power from him down in rookie ball, but an .847 OPS is solid. Two more weeks of this and he'll probably be given a Kanny assignment and skip GF.
