if it ain't broke..............

again.........we were doing fine w/o him, at least get through the 1st half strong instead of risking falling into second place before the ASB...

would the extra week off have hurt his progress? it certainly wasn't going to hurt the Sox chances to extend the lead in the division before a nice team-wide rest (ex Carlos/Crede)

Giving him another week off is pretty pointless. He's healthy, he's just not playing well. What does the week off do for him, other than make him get even more rusty?

If you are going to play him, then he needs to get out there now and play, so that he can get back into the swing of things.

I guess people will hate on who they want to hate on.

Paulie is the flavor of the week.

Hope he gets hot and proves many wrong.

I personally want him in the lineup.

If Kenny and Ozzie sense his bat is so slow he's finished, my guess is he'll be traded or benched.

If they think there's bat speed left and he's healthy, my guess is he'll play every day.

We eat our young around here. Paul Konerko is very good ball player who has been playing hurt and has slumped. We have alot of baseball ahead of us in 2008 and I want PK to be leading this team.

That's my guy too. I'm the Father Flanagan of this board. I take all the guys no one else wants and the players everyone likes I have my doubts about.

Not really. You only like Uribe because he bought you dinner once.

BS. Uribe never bought me dinner. A couple of cocktails, but no dinner, and I liked him before that. In fact, just about everyone did. I just remain loyal, just like I'm sure you are with Fields, Richar, Owens and Broadway.

The defensive switch is also a tough one to call last night as well. Lets say KC scored 2 runs anyways after the defensive switch(assuming BA in center and Swish at 1st). Then you go into the ninth down 1 and you have Thome-BA-Swisher up against Soria instead of Thome-Konerko-Swisher.

Its a moot point anyways, but I can see the justification of keeping Konerko in the game at 1st. To me a good alternative move that could have been made last night would slide Swisher to left and BA in Center.

I'll make clear what I want. If the Sox have small lead in the 8th inning or later, then it's time to start substituting defensively. Be it tomorrow's game or a September game against Cleveland, this is what I want.

No more, what if this or what if htat happens. That's my plan and I'll stick with it.

He didn't slip any roofies in those drinks, did he?

I'm all for improving the team anyway possible and if that means benching/cutting paulie or uribe then fine. But I have a big problem with any alleged sox fan talking s*** about either of them. They helped us win a f***ing world series so theres no way any sox fan should ever hate either of them

I know they helped us win a WS and I personally have no problem with Uribe. My problem lies with PK. The one thing nobody has mentioned is that its quite interesting that PKs avg and run production have been seriously diminished over the last 2 years and he looks significantly smaller. If it was the juice that gave him his power well then no matter how many games he is in there its not coming back. This really really sucks because this also prevents us from trading him away. Why Paulie why??

Now I challenge anyone out there to say Paulie wasn't using roids! Besides Kerry Wood on the northside Paulie is the only other Chicago player with a significant deflation. He looks like he has lost 30lbs and his neck and arms are much much smaller.

Paulie never was all that big. Any weight he may have lost was fat. One guy I noticed who has become a lot thinner but it hasn't affected his numbers is Aramis Ramirez.

Well it sure looks like he is wearing Frank Thomas' uniform. He is swimming in that thing. Besides the size he is getting hurt more and his hand eye coordination is off too. I would bet the house PK was juicing and now we are going to have to either suffer through another season with his deflated stats and deflated arms.

I dont care about that 3rd base piece of crap on the n-side. I am wondering if anyone agrees with me on PK. He is really quite pathetic right now and if he was juicing all those years when he was playing good then I lost respect for the man. KW should just cut him and PK can go open a gym or juice stand with Sexson!!!!!

I've been following this thread from the start, and haven't chimed in (that I recall). That should tell you plenty about my feelings about it.

So your still on the fence about the situation. :D

Konerko is 2/2 so far with 1 RBI. I have a good feeling this thread will die soon.

Not as long as you keep posting in it!

Whoops! I posted in it too!

PS - Try Mountain Dew Supernova. Pretty good! ;)

3-3 + a walk so far, and a couple of heads-up defensive plays. Regardless of what else he does this was a good game.

I like the Jim Thome we've seen as of late. He's using all fields and making me look like an idiot (keep on doing it Jimmy, keep on doing it).

He's been going to all fields for the entire season (as I've pointed out on numerous occasions), the balls are just now starting to drop for him. He's been sporting an unusually low BABIP all season.
