White Sox Winner

I just did a little research, since May 1st Scott Linebrink has allowed only 3 runs. All 3 runs have come by way of the leadoff HR in the 9th inning. In all 3 circumstances those hitters (Floyd, Ramirez, Sizemore) were the first Linebrink had faced in the game.

6 times this year Scott Linebrink has replaced someone to start the 9th inning of a tied ballgame, Scott has allowed a HR to the leadoff hitter in half of those outings. (yesterday Scott replaced Danks in the top of the 9th inning of a 1-1 game, he got the leadoff hitter [sizemore] to pop out to short, not so lucky today.)

So what does that say? He leaves it out over the plate for the first guy in the ninth. Not good. Or maybe its just bad luck.

Whatever it is, I think its time to stop using him in that situation.

This was another nice sweep. Jenks seems to always give us heart attacks in the ninth, but he usually works out of it. Hopefully he back is ok, I know what back pain like.

This team is starting to remind me of the 2005 World Champions.

That's great news. Thanks.

That's not great news for this next series. Bobby might not be available against Oakland. I'm sure we'll be looking at a lot of close games, so not having our closer is a huge disadvantage. I think we should use Dotel in closing situations now or even Matt Thornton. Linebrink has little luck in the 9th.

This team is clutch. They are also awesome.

It's a hell of a lot better than a torn rotator cuff or a torn elbow ligament. Seriously, missing a week or so of Jenks in early July is far from terrible news, especially given how durable he's been over the past 2 1/2 years.

I think we should use Dotel in closing situations

This isn't a bad idea. Dotel doesn't have the stuff to be a closer anymore, but he probably still has the mental makeup. He's a good candidate for a stopgap closer.
