Buehrle>Wood
5 games is a small size but I wouldn't mind us parting ways with Loaiza so Russell has a permanent spot.
Kalapse
I just did a little research, since May 1st Scott Linebrink has allowed only 3 runs. All 3 runs have come by way of the leadoff HR in the 9th inning. In all 3 circumstances those hitters (Floyd, Ramirez, Sizemore) were the first Linebrink had faced in the game. 6 times this year Scott Linebrink has replaced someone to start the 9th inning of a tied ballgame, Scott has allowed a HR to the leadoff hitter in half of those outings. (yesterday Scott replaced Danks in the top of the 9th inning of a 1-1 game, he got the leadoff hitter [sizemore] to pop out to short, not so lucky today.) ----------
So what does that say? He leaves it out over the plate for the first guy in the ninth. Not good. Or maybe its just bad luck.

whitesoxfan101
RIP 2008 Cleveland Indians: March 31st-July 2nd It's obvious Jenks is hurt, which is a concern, but yet another great win. Cleveland is done for good, it's now a 3 team race. 30-11 at home!!

fathom
Jenks felt a twinge in his back that caused him to not get full extension on Sunday night. He says it's not a big deal.

witesoxfan
It's not good to have back pain in a bigger guy, but I'm more relieved to find out it's that than something in the shoulder or elbow.
Swingandalongonetoleft
What goes around comes around. The heart pains he gives me when he puts two guys on with no out in close situations has come back to bite him in his ass in the form of back pains. Lucky for him he somehow manages to weasel out of those exciting moments.
Baines3
This was another nice sweep. Jenks seems to always give us heart attacks in the ninth, but he usually works out of it. Hopefully he back is ok, I know what back pain like. This team is starting to remind me of the 2005 World Champions. chw42
QUOTE (WCSox @ Jul 2, 2008 -> 10:51 PM) That's great news. Thanks. That's not great news for this next series. Bobby might not be available against Oakland. I'm sure we'll be looking at a lot of close games, so not having our closer is a huge disadvantage. I think we should use Dotel in closing situations now or even Matt Thornton. Linebrink has little luck in the 9th.

WCSox
QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 3, 2008 -> 05:55 AM) That's not great news for this next series. It's a hell of a lot better than a torn rotator cuff or a torn elbow ligament. Seriously, missing a week or so of Jenks in early July is far from terrible news, especially given how durable he's been over the past 2 1/2 years. I think we should use Dotel in closing situations This isn't a bad idea. Dotel doesn't have the stuff to be a closer anymore, but he probably still has the mental makeup. He's a good candidate for a stopgap closer.
