2nd_city_saint787
You guys think he'll be in the home run derby???
Kyyle23
i hope not. His swing seems to be kind of touchy, the last thing I want to see is CQ mess up his swing trying to go nuts in the HR Derby ala Bobby Abreu
NorthSideSox72
QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Jul 7, 2008 -> 02:14 PM) i hope not. His swing seems to be kind of touchy, the last thing I want to see is CQ mess up his swing trying to go nuts in the HR Derby ala Bobby Abreu I'd actually worry less about him than other players (Crede, for example), because I think CQ is better than most on the team at adjusting from time to time. Even pitch to pitch. He adjusts his swing, stance, etc., pretty well. Sometimes he even fiddles with it too much (a la Konerko). But I think he's very capable of adjusting back to reality after the derby.
justBLAZE
I saw all the participants on ESPN bottom line, late last night, no Sox players participating. EDIT: I guess 5 out of 8 are in so far. Hamilton, Uggla, Utley, Berkman, Sizemore. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/allstar08/ne...tory?id=3476173 Edited July 7, 2008 by tommy

WilliamTell
Which should mean 2 more American Leaguers, and I think A-Rod is not doing the derby. I would guess either Jermaine or Carlos would get an invite.

I would guess either Jermaine or Carlos would get an invite. IIRC...Jermaine was in the Derby at the AS game at the new Pittsburgh digs a few years back. I remember that because of this MONSTEROUS DINGER he hit. I've never seen him hit one that far.

whitesoxbrian
Vlad said he's in. Only 1 left for the AL now. I'd like to see McClouth be the final NL guy and Kinsler be the final AL guy.
ChiliIrishHammock24
Sooo its... AL: Hamilton Sizemore Vlad NL: Uggla Utley Berkman I expect that Carlos will get asked. But then again it might be like Manny Ramirez or something stupid like that. I really hope Ankiel gets in for the NL. Chisoxfn
I think Crede could actually be good for the home run derby. He apparently has a lot of BP power.
