Bobby Jenks headed to DL

"Guillen also said that, no, Uribe does not have pictures of Guillen, so fans should stop e-mailing the manager about that.

Guillen did say the Ozuna move was "the hardest thing I've ever had to do as a manager."

They wanted Uribe in case someone goes down.

Guillen's reason for the Ozuna move was that while Ozuna helps him more off the bench than Uribe, Uribe is a better every day starter.

Bobby Jenks is headed to the 15-day disabled list, most likely after tonight's game, according to Ozzie Guillen.

Konerko in the starting lineup and hitting sixth behind Jim Thome."

So Ozuna will remain on the roster for at least a bit? Or are they going to call someone else up since Jenks will be on his way to the DL? I know Loaiza was going to have some side-sessions, is he going to be the new guy up?

I sure hope not, he was having trouble retiring AAA hitters.

He better not, he was hitting 76 mph on the gun with his fastball in AAA.

puzzling move. why would they DFA ozuna if they were going to put jenks on the DL? who are they bringing up? fields? richar?

I agree, they could've kept Pablo a little longer but maybe Jenk's isnt headed to the DL but if he is and we call someone up my guess is Richar.

Don't look at me, I assume they wouldn't be that foolish. But I also don't see why you DFA Ozuna if you are going to put Jenks on the DL. I think its smart putting Jenks on the DL anyway, this gives him an extended rest in season which hopefully will prevent him from coming back too soon and reinjuring something.

I'm sure we'll call up another pitcher and my guess would be Wasserman. Unless the Sox opted to go with Broadway as a long-man, which could make sense since the Sox want to put Masset in much more of a set-up type of role.

Ozzie insists on 12 pitchers, per the Trib.

Since Loaiza isn't ready, I'm guessing we'll get Wassermann for a week. He probably won't pitch more than once or twice at most anyway, so, I guess it doesn't make much difference who they call up.

Maybe they'll surprise everyone and bring up Poreda to close in the mean time............

He's been starting throughout his minor league time, and he started this year in A+ (recently promoted to AA). I somehow doubt they will pop him up to the club for a week to close.

Obviously I was tongue in cheek on that one.

I really hope Kenny is looking in the market though just in case Bobby's injury is a little more serious than they are making it look

I figured you were kidding, but, it isn't entirely out of the question. Stranger things have been done. Just really unlikely.

And I bet Kenny has a rolling list going for this kind of scenario.

The Sox system does have some nice young closers in it, but most aren't ready. The guys closing in Charlotte are Wass (who is not a real closer) and MacDougal (who has trouble closing paper bags). The others are too young yet.

I don't get how you can call Masset a below average reliever. Aside from a handful of below average outings, he's been pretty damn good.

1.58 WHIP and rising (maybe not a good indicator, but given his horrible performance as last season went on, it raises some alarms).

I'd guess Haegar is the guy up based on his recent success, and Ozzies want for a long man.

I'd rather go with Ehren, and hope he can regain his form. We already have two long men in Masset and Russell.
