lostfan
I don't think the judge is racist, just dumber than f***. lostfan
QUOTE (kapkomet @ Oct 15, 2009 -> 09:19 PM) WTF is wrong with you? I agree, again. I've been thinking about it, and I'm starting to believe a weakening dollar isn't the worst thing in the world if it means we start getting manufacturing jobs back here. China's got no other choice. kapkomet
QUOTE (lostfan @ Oct 15, 2009 -> 08:27 PM) I've been thinking about it, and I'm starting to believe a weakening dollar isn't the worst thing in the world if it means we start getting manufacturing jobs back here. China's got no other choice. Yes and no. The weakening dollar is a partial cause of this recession as well. You're already starting to see energy prices go back up as a result. Yea, they say "global demand is picking up" but in reality, it's not. Not in any large way. So, weakening dollar means higher energy costs that are pegged to the dollar. That's a small part of course. But China is trying to figure out how to get the money into their own people's hands. I was reading a WSJ from a couple of weeks ago and they were saying that the government is trying like hell to get the people to buy the s*** we Americans can no logner afford. There's a supply glut of crap over there and they can't figure out how to get rid of it. The Chicomms are not going to produce anything here, that's a farce, although the governor of Indiana and a couple of small town dips***s think they will (f***sticks). The Chinese struggle with the goods being dispersed among their own people because it starts driving more and more materialism, which means they tend to think more "free", if you will. That creates instability eventually from the communism/government side of things. Anyway, the falling dollar is a big story - bigger yet once inflation starts - and sooner or later, it has to - it happens every time government is the main beneficiary of stimulus. I was talking more about domestic consumption in the US as opposed to us buying cheap Chinese s*** like we've been doing the last 20 years, of course China wouldn't produce anything here, that would be stupid if you were Chinese. The Chinese government has a long ways to go before they get their people spending like we do here.
lostfan
Quick follow-up to the Glenn Beck Satire site: Has Glenn Beck Denied Raping and Murdering a Young Girl in 1990? HuskyCaucasian
Leave it up to Fox News to spread more lies with bad fact checking: 53 House Republicans Try to Oust Safe Schools Czar Over Retracted Fox News Story Following the cue of Fox News personality Sean Hannity, fifty-three House Republicans have written President Barack Obama calling on him to fire "safe schools czar" Kevin Jennings. In their letter, the Republicans repeat a thoroughly debunked claim that Jennings ignored the sexual abuse of a student while teaching high school. Equally troubling is Mr. Jennings' self-described history of ignoring the sexual abuse of a child. In his book, One Teacher in Ten, Mr. Jennings recounts a 15-year old student confiding in him that he had a sexual relationship with a much older man. Mr. Jennings' only response was to ask if the underage boy used a condom. As a mandatory reporter, Mr. Jennings was required by law to report child abuse, including sex crimes. Mr. Jennings cannot serve as the "safe schools" czar when his record demonstrates a willingness to overlook the sexual abuse of a child. Fox News has issued a correction for reporting this fake story (the child in question was 16 at the time, the legal age of consent in Massachusetts.) However, House Republicans continue to treat it as fact. The rest of the letter is filled with vague accusations seemingly based on a Family Research Council campaign, debunked here. The letter was put together by Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa), who has repeatedly argued that protecting gay people from hate crimes will help pedophiles. Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) responded that targeting Jennings was just a way to promote increasingly unpopular anti-gay views. "This is just an effort to exploit anti-gay feeling -- they have this anti-gay view that they understand is becoming less and less popular with the public," Frank told The Hill on Thursday. If that's the case, sign me up! Or perhaps they would like US workers to have the same low standard of living as workers enjoy in Korea, Taiwan, Mexico, and other manufacturing strong holds. Rex Kickass
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 16, 2009 -> 08:49 AM) Look no further than the automotive industry which at one point had just about everything that liberals were looking for from corporate America... great health insurance, pension, super high wages, etc. To place the blame of GM and Chrysler's demise solely on good worker conditions is a massive oversimplification and, quite frankly, a ridiculous notion. Maybe if GM and Chrysler focused on making cars people wanted on a more consistent basis, they wouldn't be the massive s***show that they have become.
