I'm not quite sure what point I'm trying to make here, but I found this interesting, and yet, didn't want to post it in the Texas thread.

The incident took place around 6:35 p.m. Monday, police said. The priest, Alexios Marakis, 29, is from Crete, Greece. He is visiting St. Nicholas Greek Cathedral at 17 E Tarpon Ave. but police said he was in the Westshore area to bless another retired Greek priest.

But Marakis apparently got lost and exited northbound Interstate 275 into downtown Tampa, police said.

The priest followed several cars into the Seaport Channelside Apartments on Twiggs Street. He got out of his car and asked Bruce for help.

Instead of offering help, Bruce struck the priest on the head with a tire iron, police said.

He then chased the priest for three blocks to the Madison Avenue and Meridian Avenue, police said, and even called 911 to say that an Arabic man tried to rob him.

Bruce said he was going to take the Arab into custody. When police arrived, Bruce told them the victim was a terrorist.

lol you would be surprised at the s*** I see people reporting to the FBI. Some of them just amount to "I saw a brown guy doing something besides standing still and minding his business."

Doesn't usually involve a marine and a tire iron though.

Great catch by The Daily Show:

Sean Hannity Uses Glenn Beck's Protest Footage

Political Humor Health Care Crisis

The tea party protests continued last week, as Congresswoman Michele Bachmann held an anti-health-care-reform rally on the steps of the Capitol. While she estimated that 20,000-45,000 people attended the event, the Washington Post reported it was actually more like 10,000.

Still, that is a sizable number of Americans exercising their right to free speech and assembly, and that warrants news coverage. But Sean Hannity and his team did more than cover the event. They not only inflated the number in attendance with their words, but actually used footage from a heavily-attended protest this summer to make this health care rally appear more popular. Hannity even pointed out that this was a huge crowd for a Thursday, when the protest footage they used was from a Saturday.

I'm sure it was just an "error" made by some low level intern or producer who made a simple "mistake". That's always the excuse, right?

Saw a dumb ass Facebook poll asking if people agree with Obama's decision to call the White House Christmas tree a "Holiday Tree." Apparently based off an e-mail that someone made up. I made sure to comment on my friend's post voting "no" to say it was 100% false and complete and utter horses***. Doing the poll makes more people (who are stupid) believe it's true.

Also there was this comment before mine:

Why not take Christmas? If we have nothing to belive in, we will have nothing to fight for. It is an attitude that fits socialism quite well. And that is what Americans voted for...isn't it?

^^ Hook, line, sinker

I read rumors that Fox wanted him.

Of course they do.

If they could get him on their business channel it might make more than 1000 people watch it.

Otherwise, he fits the rest of their lineup perfectly.

It's also possible, based on how he sounded tonight, he could run for office somewhere.

Dobbs really isn't even Republician. He is a Libertarian if I have ever met one.

libertarians are for open boarders and tons of immigration. Which pretty much goes against just about everything Lou Dobbs likes to talk about.

The recent groups want everything closed. No immigration, no trade, no foreign anything.

you must be thinking of another party. the libertarian party is total free trade and open boarders.

from their website; in the immigration section

Crossing an international border to support your family and pursue dreams of a better life is not an inherently criminal act like rape or robbery. If it were, then most of us descend from criminals. As the people of Texas know well, the large majority of illegal immigrants are not bad people. They are people who value family, faith and hard work trying to live within a bad system.

When large numbers of otherwise decent people routinely violate a law, the law itself is probably the problem. To argue that illegal immigration is bad merely because it is illegal avoids the threshold question of whether we should prohibit this kind of immigration in the first place.
