NorthSideSox72
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 12:09 PM) What obvious differences are there in our lives now that there is a Dem controlled Congress and Executive branch? This argument can be made for any single year of a new Congress and/or new Presidency - that the direct and immediate effect from them is minimal. KipWellsFan
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 12:09 PM) What obvious differences are there in our lives now that there is a Dem controlled Congress and Executive branch? Surely you understand how important it is to have moderate judges on the benches rather than the Republicans' current taste for absolutist retro-activists. Rex Kickass
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 01:09 PM) What obvious differences are there in our lives now that there is a Dem controlled Congress and Executive branch? I'd wager to argue that our recession would be a fully fleshed out depression right now without the intervention of a Dem controlled Congress and Executive branch. We've seen a ton of work to change the way our relations operate with dozens of states, allys and enemies. We've taken steps to close the prison in Guantanamo Bay. Fully funded Amtrak and actually started working to improve our mass transit infrastructure. Restored funding for Byrne grants which look to fix crime issues in inner cities. Added 2 million acres of land to federal protection. Lily Ledbetter Act.

StrangeSox
Number of Unicorns, per capita. for serious, though, it looks like percent of something since they both start at 100 and go down. What it is a percent of (GNP, DOW, Wages, Jobs) I have no idea. Edited December 16, 2009 by StrangeSox
HuskyCaucasian
No Tomatoes for You! After the Minnesota Palin tomato-throwing incident, the Costco in Salt Lake City Utah has taken the precaution of removing all tomatoes ahead of Sarah Palin's book tour event. DukeNukeEm
Franken just became the Almighty in the Senate (now that Barackus the Great has ascended). Lol, now that's somewhat funny. The best part of this article is the John McCain quote "I must say that I don't know what's happening here in this body but I think it's wrong."
