Why all the sudden is the Census this super evil communist plot. I don't remember anyone complaining about it in years past.

You've never heard all of the conspiratorialists on both sides scream about it? The big thing I always remember hearing is that is a governmental plot to ID illegals and send them back.

GWB publicly made statements in 2000 during the campaign that if people didn't want to, they should pass on filling out the census forms.

Not complaining. Already filled out and returned.

^^what GoSox said. I was browsing some blogs before I made my original comment and not talking about anyone here. I didn't know whether I was supposed to laugh or cry though. It's like some people think that Obama invented the Census as another step to turn us into Communist Nazis.

Daley today announced that a controversial plan to overhaul the city's pension plans is going to be unveiled. He apparently hired some high end financial industry folks to study options to come up with something more viable, and wants to go that route.

I'm no big fan of Daley's, but I will say that he's been doing some pretty shrewd things financially in the last year or two.

Swell. The only types I'd trust less with a pension plan than Daley.

Funny, I'd trust them far and above most government bodies. They'd still fall under the same regulations, only be able to work more effectively within those rules.

And to find nice easy ways around them.

Counts are mandated, and most people are fine with it. The problem is the race profiling that's used to gerrymander the s*** out of the districts. But that's not new, either. That's a part of it and has been for decades.

The poopoo hit the fan when Barackus the Great tried to move the census underneath the exec branch as well. That was new. Plus, it's funded primarily by the weenielus.

Agree. After giving the unions a ten year contract guarantee. He sees the writing on the wall because no 2016 games.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's wife and daughter were in a serious car accident Thursday afternoon on Interstate 95 in Fairfax County, and police said they are being treated at an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Police said the Reids' van was rear-ended and crushed by a fully loaded tractor-trailer while driving in heavy traffic.

Virginia State Police spokeswoman Corinne Geller said Landra G. Reid, 69, and Lana Reid-Barringer, 48, of McLean, were driving northbound on I-95 at about 1:10 p.m. in a 2005 Honda Odyssey van in stop-and-go traffic when Reid-Barringer began to stop for traffic ahead of her. A tractor-trailer loaded with rolls of plastic behind her did not stop and pushed the van into another car.

That car in turn hit a third car.

Geller said the van was crushed on both ends.

Both Reid-Barringer and Reid were wearing seatbelts and were transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church. The driver of a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee and the driver of a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt, also involved in the crash, were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

"Mrs. Reid has a broken nose, broken back and broken neck. Lana has a neck injury and facial lacerations. Both Mrs. Reid and Lana are conscious, can feel their extremities, and according to doctors their injuries are non-life threatening," Jon Summers, a spokesman for Sen. Reid (D-Nev.), said in a statement late Thursday afternoon.

This has NOTHING to do with The Boss recently endorsing Democrats:

Beck: Springsteen’s ‘Born in the USA’ is ‘anti-American,’ ‘propaganda’

Because we all know that if your anti-war your anti-American. Nothing new from conservatives.

George Will tried to get Regan to use this song without having a clue to what it was about.
