StrangeSox
This is just awful: http://www.salon.com/2012/10/31/cop_used_t...0_year_old_boy/ "According to the complaint, [New Mexico police officer Chris] Webb shot his Taser at the child after he said he did not want to join fellow classmates in cleaning the officer's patrol car. Courthouse News reported: Defendant Webb responded by pointing his Taser at R.D. and saying, 'Let me show you what happens to people who do not listen to the police.' ... [H]e sent 50,000 volts of electricity into the child's chest on the playground. The young boy blacked out and has, according to his legal representative, been suffering from post traumatic stress disorder ever since."

StrangeSox
This made me laugh more than anything: NARRATOR: Who supports Barack Obama? HUGO CHAVEZ: "If I were American, I'd vote for Obama." NARRATOR: Raúl Castro's daughter, Mariela Castro, would vote for Obama. MARIELA CASTRO: "I would vote for President Obama." NARRATOR: And to top it off, Obama's Environmental Protection Agency sent emails for Hispanic Heritage month with a photo of Che Guevara. CHAVEZ: "If Obama were from Barlovento (a Venezuelan town), he'd vote for Chávez." ROMNEY: I'm Mitt Romney, and I approve this message.

StrangeSox
The Romney campaign and Tea Party groups like "true the vote" are 'training' poll watchers with all sorts of incorrect information. I'm sure this will end well. http://thinkprogress.org/justice/2012/11/0...hers/?mobile=nc A new ThinkProgress investigation has found that in Iowa, Romney poll watchers are being trained to watch for voters who show up without a photo ID, even though no voter ID law exists in the state. In a training video for Romney poll watchers in Iowa, the narrator tells volunteers to be on the lookout for anytime “a voter fails to show a voter ID and they are still permitted to vote.” If that happens, he says, “alert the legal team so they can handle the problem.” The text of the campaign’s slide, however, says something contradictory, instructing volunteers when poll workers should check the voter’s ID. Despite the mixed messages, the slide ends with: “If an election worker is not checking photo ID, please call the legal hotline immediately.” http://wtaq.com/news/articles/2012/oct/31/...ing-questioned/ Romney’s campaign has held training sessions around the state to show its volunteers what to watch for at the polls next week. The liberal blog “Think Progress” said one training session in Racine gave volunteers quote, “several misleading or false claims about the rights of Wisconsin voters.” For example, it said all felons cannot vote – but actually, they can vote after completing their sentences. Also, the blog said volunteers were told to sign in only as “concerned citizens.” Romney campaign attorney Kristina Sesek was quoted as telling the volunteers, “We’re just trying to alleviate the animosity of being a Republican observer up front.”
Jake
The comments on that Bloomberg article are hilariously out of touch. Somehow they read that and said that he's voting Obama because he thinks Sandy was caused by global warming. Not only does he explicitly say that he has no idea if it was caused by global warming, he does not say that global warming is the one reason he will vote for Obama -- he merely says that is one of many important things that he feels Obama is right about. mr_genius
in the name of bipartisanship, i have a great idea and want to run it by you guys. here are some basics to start with. 1) you guys like to raise taxes. 2) you really would like to raise taxes mostly on Republicans 3) you guys think Republicans are fatter than Democrats based on comments here at Soxtalk. What about a fatso tax? All fatsos have a weigh in and have their tax rates raised or lowed based on how fat they are. the tax will be like a fine. so for an extreme fatso the fine is like 5k a year. what do you guys think? I know how to do this even moreso. Right now, fat people already pay a fine for being fat -- much higher health insurance rates.
