The majority of older people vote, while a minority of younger people vote -- so every younger person that votes, such as yourself -- counts as the voice of the next generation of Americans.

I remember when I substitute taught an AP Econ class for a semester while the teacher was on maternity leave. At one point they kids were asked if they wanted to register to vote, and pretty much none of them did.

I made my point by pointing out that there was a million dollar senior center on the beach, while there was no youth facility at all. Then I compared the voting rates of those over 65 to those under 25.

A few more people registered to vote that day.

Reddy's civil cynicism has really overshadowed how great *I* am at voting.

Civil cynicism? I've been more involved in the political process than 99% of this country. I've worked on multiple presidential campaigns, even traveling across the country to do so. I'm vehemently passionate about politics. If I lived somewhere besides Manhattan, I'd absolutely agree with Y2HH, but where I live, it doesn't matter HOW corrupt Charlie Rangel is - he won't lose another election till he dies. That's just the reality in NYC. I also still do vote, by the way, I just recognize that it makes very little difference here.

Hillary Clinton is catching some serious heat about deleting 30000 emails. People are showing her mugshot next to Sarah Palin and mocking Hillary's looks.

Why would she want the hassle of being president aside from the stuff I've mentioned before. This should be very interesting if the media decides to keep ruffling her feathers rather than worshiping her presence.

Probably, Reddy.

I wonder why she killed the 30000 emails. I'd think a simple retrieval method out of the trash could happen if she really wanted the emails read by public.

I still think there's a 10 percent chance she doesn't run cause of the scrutiny.

You guys think greg is crazy, but seriously .... she should not run at all; she should not campaign, then right before the convention decide to run. It'd be a lousy thing to do to the other candidates, but by being coy and leaking this strategy, she could just coast in at convention time after NO campaigning and still get the nomination.

I truly think Hillary is different; she doesn't need to campaign, and could avoid the pesky media if she wished. She should hire me as her consultant I tell you.

She's one candidate the less the public sees, the better. My strategy would guarantee fluff interviews til the convention.

Q: Are u going to run Hillary? Reports are you are still considering a late entry?

A: Well I am not planning on that as we speak.

Result: HEADLINES. ALL POSITIVE.

Kerry, regardless of whether you with his policy implementations, has been prolific as SOS. Again, lends me pause on Clinton.

Didn't Clinton put together the sanctions regime on Iran that eventually led to this?

Yes. Clinton did a lot to set the table for the results that Kerry is reaping right now. It isn't that John Kerry is suddenly changing everything in State. He's just there at the right time - and doing a pretty admirable effort at that.

Sorry, but it is a hell of a lot harder to close major deals like this than "set the table". His job of setting the table for a deal in Israel Palestine in 2013 with one party explicitly not interested in a deal was more impressive than getting China/Russia on board. Iran 2013 looked as close as ever, now we look like we bought ten years for change. That's a lot of time.

I'm not saying that John Kerry doesn't deserve a hell of a lot of credit. I'm just saying that both secretaries of state have done a more than admirable job. But if I had to rank them from top to bottom, Kerry would be at the top of my list too.

I think "getting countries to put sanctions on Iran that they didn't want to put on Iran" is a pretty effective job of closing multiple major deals.

Getting France to do anything is a pretty effective job.

Every single thing I hate about this system summed up very well in one instant.

Regardless of when she announces, the plan, one Clinton insider told The Daily Beast, was to do a massive fundraising push through her website and with allied organizations to raise “an insane amount of money” right out of the starting gate.
Congratulations on your "insane amount of money". I'm sure that shows your legislative and governing skills quite well.

John Oliver had Edward Snowden on last night. Hilarious, but he didn't let Snowden off easy.

Go to 15:53.

Finally watched this. Amazing work by Oliver. His work is unmatched.

I am depressed. Sunday is the day she declares she's running for President of the United States? I read her main points of emphasis will be equal pay for women and some other women's rights issues. SO SMART!!! Keep it general and get 95 percent or more of the female vote. That is gonna help greatly as she becomes the first woman president. s*** ... she ought to just come out and say it. Run on that platform. Tell all women ... "it's time! A woman needs to get her chance to run this country!" Ah who am I kidding. She won't need to say it. The equal pay thing is genius. Nobody can disagree with her and she will be seen as a hero to all.
