Y2HH
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 21, 2015 -> 10:24 AM) Except for the pretensions of concern for the environment, health care access, urban poor/education, gun control and salary equality for women, pretty much. So, like I said, exactly as things are today.

greg775
Say what you want about Donald Trump. He's not backing down. Most public figures who make statements that are over-exaggerated in the media and cause boycotts/consternation, etc., simply fade away. Not Trump and one other man, Rush Limbaugh. They survive controversial statements because they fight back. Truthfully, what did Trump say that was so bad? He's against illegal immigrants committing crimes. Limbaugh has said some wild stuff. He's survived, too. I kind of hope Trump is our next president. He has charisma and isn't afraid to say what he thinks. This controversy is overblown. He's right, the people disassociating with him are weak. I love when Trump goes on shows and the host starts denigrading him with follow up questions about his statement on Mexico. Trump fights back forcibly and the host immediate gets uncomfortable thinking, "Hmmm, he's not apologiziing and he's saying some offensive stuff on MY show. What do I do now to get out of this??" The outrage is (shock!) overblown, but at least it's somewhat warranted. The piling on from random places (mattresses? really?) is hilarious though. This latest flap is stupid and overblown. He's against a swarm of immigrants entering the country illegally. Obviously he doesn't think they ALL commit crimes like rape. It's just more of America today ... piling on and acting all offended. But like I said, Trump is making everybody uncomfortable by NOT BACKING DOWN. Put him on your talk show and beware. He'll fight back and maybe your show will get boycotted depending on your (host) reaction. Edited July 2, 2015 by greg775

greg775
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jul 11, 2015 -> 06:09 AM) I was wondering who could possibly like trump. Of course it's Greg. But that's how I feel about Hillary, the way you all feel about Trump. I'd pretty much take anybody over Hillary, although I really did despise Romney. If it was Romney vs. Hilly I'd sit that one out. I like Trump because he's not willing to get chastised by the media when they overreacted to what he said. The media doesn't like it when they get a candidate in what they think is a controversial moment and the subject does't recoil and cry and apologize. Trump basically says "f*** off" I don't hate all Mexicans and you are not gonna get me to back down from something I didn't say." He laughs when Macy's boycotts his merchandise and now he's mocking Macy's cause people are ripping up their Macy's credit cards for messing with Trump. I love it. Limbaugh is the same way. Look at that celebrity who said "I hate America." She's all apologizing and everything. All she had to do was say, "I hate these big fricking donuts we have in America. It came out wrong. Everybody grow up." Trump is great cause he won't give in to the media overreaction to his statement. People are way too PC nowadays. Did you see it's even affecting standup comedy? The PC police is all offended at jokes nowadays. What a country we live in. Read this link and tell me you don't like Trump. He blasts Hillary, calls her the worst secretary of state ever, lol. He rips macy's. I'm liking him more and more. He will drive the pundits crazy if he wins the primary. Trump says things that will make TV very very uncomfortable. http://www.breitbart.com/immigration/2015/...l-beat-hillary/ Edited July 11, 2015 by greg775
StrangeSox
I'm not going to read a brietbart link. That will only worsen my opinion. Saying terrible things that make people uncomfortable isn't some sort of virtue. And I saw jerry Seinfeld winningwhining about college campuses because of something his 14 year old daughter said, which is weird because his humor has never been offensive or edgy and also his daughter is not a college student.
