chw42
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 9, 2008 -> 01:00 PM) No offense, but that's stupid. They were trying to win just like the Sox. It happened to be a good game. True Linebrink sucked, but there were a lot of potential goats on both sides in that game. Call me dumb but I'd try Linebrink again. He's getting used to being trotted out there. Or try Masset again. True he stunk, but he did get the last DP ball. It's that feeling where you were so close, but you let it slip away. I was totally demoralized. It was late, I was tired. I thought 2 runs were enough. Living through the fear that Nick Masset would cough up the game was too much to take for me. He almost did, too. chw42
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 10, 2008 -> 09:39 AM) That was the best I've seen Dotel look in a Sox uni. His velocity was up (hitting 93-94 consistently) and that FB had great life to it. Better than his 5 K 2 inning outing vs. the Twins? robin23
After last nights performance i say give Dotel a chance at closing.
chw42
QUOTE (robin23 @ Jul 10, 2008 -> 03:57 PM) After last nights performance i say give Dotel a chance at closing. Thing is, can Dotel bring it like he did last night consistently? I know pitchers have good/ok/bad days. Dotel usually doesn't have the "ok" kind of day. He's either really dominant or he has trouble finding the strike zone. For a closer, inconsistency is the worst trait to have. greg775
Living through the fear that Nick Masset would cough up the game was too much to take for me. He almost did, too. I tend to think of it as it's a very good game (although admittedly frustrating at the time) and if we hang in there we might pull it out. And who knows the WAY we pull it out might be something the team can use later in the season or postseason. Face it, it's tough to win on the road even when there are only 15-20,000 fans on hand. Get a grip, man, and try to enjoy the games.
