bighurt4life
Anyone know why Kent Gerst hasn't been playing? I checked the roster and it doesn't say anything about him being injured. I thought he was a top prospect
scenario
QUOTE (bighurt4life @ Jul 10, 2008 -> 09:00 PM) Anyone know why Kent Gerst hasn't been playing? I checked the roster and it doesn't say anything about him being injured. I thought he was a top prospect I'm pretty sure he's hurt. He was pulled out of a game a couple of weeks ago for a pinch runner. And he hasn't played since. He was hitting .323 at the time.

Derek Rodriguez who struck out 4 in two innings of scoreless relief Rodriguez has struck out 13 and walked 1 in 10 innings since getting promoted. Dick Allen
Everyone talking about Crede's errors this season, Danny Richar has 10 at 2b in 47 games.

Dang, Bristol's been rained out like four days in a row. They must have to make up 5 or 6 games.

NorthSideSox72
I think Wes Whisler is a pretty big story this year. Here's a guy who struggled in AA and was labeled as just not having the stuff to make it. Not enough velocity, etc. Look at his season so far - 10-5, 3.46 ERA, 1.73 GO/AO (lots of ground balls!), and good control (31 BB in 101 IP). The only warning sign in his numbers is the low strikeout total (43). Anyone seen him pitch this year? How is he getting guys out with the lack of "stuff"? ChiSox_Sonix
Cole Armstrong is hitting .550 in his first 10 games in AAA (21/38). Not a bad way to react to a promotion.

JPN366
QUOTE (forrestg @ Jul 11, 2008 -> 11:26 AM) How good is his defensive skills and handling of pitchers.. Can he throw out base stealers.. I can't find much info on him. Solid defensively, cannon for an arm. Hardly any past balls, wild pitches or stolen bases off of him when I saw him in B'ham. Plus, he has good power from the left side. Not a great hitter for average though.
witesoxfan
sounds like a guy who will probably project to be a Mark Johnson type player with the upside of, say, a Brian Schneider.
