instead of saying this team is dead after every single loss...do people ever stop and consider that maybe its losing that makes a team look dead, and not the other way around?

You're right. We looked very stellar from yesterday, to the get-go today, to the end.

Tonight more than any other game, it seemed the players lacked focus. How many 3-2 pitches could they chase that were way out of the zone? They seem very fatigued, from the starting pitchers on down. I'll be ecstatic to go into the break with a 1 1/2 game lead.

im not saying we looked stellar...we looked poor, but we looked poor because we walked guys made mistakes in the field and played poor baseball all around, which is why we lost....

its not some sort of "dead" attitude that is causing us to play poor baseball and thus lose....its poor baseball causing us to lose and thus look dead

Do we ever have a good game plan against pitchers we've never seen? We looked like bIind peopIe at the plate. Gavin pitched like a pussy, what a surprise. You might as well have started Carrasco.

He's done nothing this year for you to say this.

Isn't that usually how it works? We looked like Roger Clemens was on the mound yesterday, and tonight it seemed like freaking Nolan Ryan was out there. After we got down 4-1 yesterday, it seemed like the strategy in the 9th was "get out as soon as you can so we can go out and throw a few back" and today it looked the same.

He's been good overall. However, he leads the team in walks. He's not a great pitcher on the road. And recently, he's been inconsistent. Therefore, this start did not surprise me.

This is the first time I've ever seen the Sox lose two games in a row, too.

Serious?

I guess all I need is a couple days off from this team, like Konerko. I'm going to get my wish, too- tomorrow I'll be at the race in Joliet and Sunday I'm going to see CC.

Based on your statement, should KW back up the truck and unload the veterans for prospects?

:lolhitting Yeah.

Seriously, I thought KW was nuts for not dumping guys like PK, Dye, Crede, Uribe, etc. last year. He obviously knew something. I'll never doubt him again.

But for the last 4 days, we've been playing like crap. Luckily, we were playing KC and we came out of there with 2 wins.

I'm with you on the first sentence, but I still may doubt KW. Right now we're not playing well, but tems will go through that at times during a long season.

That being said, there is no excuse for this team to consistently make nothing pitchers look like Cy Young. That's bad. It's been a problem for years and it's annoying.

I honestly would like to have seen what this team would look like if KW would have traded Crede after '05 (and probably gotten a pretty good haul)...and Konerko this off season. I understand hindsight sucks and all...but getting rid of guys when their at their peak isn't a bad idea at times. Crede I'm ok with (but looking forward to the Fields era next year)...but Paulie is just a wreck out there. To me...the team emulates him when he's on the field....lifeless. Geez-us this team is so much better with Swish at 1B. It's just not his glove...it's his "life" he brings to the entire infield it seems like.

No, they would have actually beaten the f*** out of Clemens, like they have done in about 75% of the starts he has made against them this decade.

Greinke is damn good. I'd love to have him on our team.

Tonight I'll give you. Terrible effort again against a no name.

Hope our starters rest up over the break. Jose, Javy, now Floyd all stink in most recent outing.

Hope we kick ass at home second half and learn to somehow play better baseball on the road.

We're damn lucky we took 2 of 3 from KC.

Oh well, we're playing a good team this weekend. Can we win 2 or 1? We shall see.

As usual, you're the first to declare this team is horrible. The act is getting a bit old.

I never said we're horrible. Right now, we look dead. I hope to God they come out and kick the hell out of Texas tomorrow.
