I still buy cds but I recently purchased my first iPod and find it much easier to use that for my car rather than having to drag each cd around everywhere. I'll continue to buy cds because I find myself flipping through the booklets every once in awhile when I'm listening to an album and have nothing better to do.

My Car has a 6 disc in dash and I used it all the time early on, but than I got a tape deck which connected to my IPOD and since than I play about a CD a month. I never listen to FM radio (unless I'm just sick of whats on my IPOD or am going to listen to a morning talk show). My next car will likely have satellite radio (but I'm not in the market for a car currently) and at that point I may use that a bit more (mainly for sports purposes as well as high quality random music stations).

6 disc cd changer in car, XM satellite radio/AM for sports and I'm set. I never bothered with an ipod. To me, they cheapen the experience. Damn near everyone I know probably can't recall the last time they listened to an artist's release track by track, front to back, and it's sad cause they're missing out.

If I wanted to, I could probably burn or download most of GNR's fabled Chinese Democracy right now. It just wouldn't be the same as finally getting my hands on a copy of something I've waited so long for. That, and I really think actually buying the cd and physically putting it in the changer will let you appreciate it and allow it to grow on you more for reasons I'd get into, but I'm tired. It stems from me owning a RIO 20GB mp3 player a few years back. I found my attention span for music was reduced significantly. Where once I'd listen to a cd for month(s), that turned into days with the mp3 player.

My iPod lost it's appeal, quickly. I don't even know where it is. I'm too lazy to pick and choose what to load in and then actually input it and then update it. Call me crazy, but it's too time consuming. :huh

I buy CDs and play them in the car, period.

I just put ALL of my music, regardless of my intentions of listening to it, onto my ipod. If I get a new cd, its a plug and click few minute ordeal to upload it.

Another good poll question would be, In what way is the majority of one's music acquired? ie. illegal downloads, itunes store, other paid downloaders, actual cds, etc.

I think thats a poll that will be left untold. illegal downloads are a subject to be avoided around here for various reasons
