WhiteSoxfan1986
I used to love the home run derby, but I probably won't even watch it. It's too damn long. Make it 2 rounds instead of 3 and I might tune in.
whitesoxbrian
I'm going to watch for the first time in 3 years to hopefully see a 510+ foot HR by Hamilton.
Chisoxfn
I usually don't buy into the hype, but there is no denying the history of Yankee stadium and I'm pretty excited to see the derby there. Plus it will be very friendly for lefties to put up some massive home run totals.
LittleHurt05
Anybody know who ESPN has set up as commentators? I assume its Chris Berman, but I hope its not so I can actually watch with the sound on. Him just screaming "back, back, back" and naming nearby towns and neighborhoods that the ball got hit too is so damn annoying. When the game was at Comiskey, just kept yelling, and that ball is hit to Joliet, to Aurora, to Wrigley, to the United Center. No, dumb ass, home plate faces east, so the ball couldnt go to any of the places, you idiot.

It was classic that he didn't do the Masters on ESPN and then wore a green jacket on BBTN that Sunday night. The Masters has a history of dictating the announcers (i.e. McCord can't do the CBS broadcast and Fehrety is toned down). I hope the Masters told Berman to stick it and didn't want to be associated with him.

kageman129
How are the people chosen for the HR Derby? Is there any type of voting or anything? Cause I know the players can choose not to participate, but how are those players picked?
ChWRoCk2
I'm picking Hamilton to win this thing. Berkman I think takes second.
Fotop
I like Hamilton as well, but wouldn't be surprised if Utley took it. The lefties are going to have a field day with that porch in RF. Also, it looks like they're trying to speed up the event this year. Not sure how exactly, but heard that this morning. We'll see if there's a noticeable difference this year. maggsmaggs
I am gonna miss most of it because of a softball game, but my guess is Morneau wins this thing even though he has the least amount of homers coming in. In second place, the big puma.

maggsmaggs
This is kind of the reason I like this year's makeup of the field. No clear cut winner. I think it makes for the event to be all the more interesting and suspensful. Plus, there aren't real big dudes in this event, most of them are either short or just athletic. Morneau is a tall guy, but I wouldn't consider him "big." EDIT: I would actually consider Hamilton big, but he is also athletic too. I guess my point is no stiffs like McGwire, Howard, Sosa... watchtower41
Here are the odds... some decent darkhorses in the field. Braun looks intriguing to me for some reason... Utley 9-2 Uggla 8-1 Longaria 10-1 Sizemore 11-2 Hamilton 5-2 Morneau 9-2 Berkman 4-1 Braun 7-

Awesome shows... thanks for posting. There is no way in hell this would ever fly in today's game.
SoxFan1
I'm taking Braun. No one seems to be talking about him. He has just as much power, if not more, than anyone else in the field.
