Brian
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 19, 2008 -> 10:14 AM) The only bad part of the movie was me squeeming in my seat trying to hold in my pee for the last hour or so of the movie. Ha, I always go right before I go into the theatre to prevent this. Sometimes it doesn't work.

Let me qualify this by saying I thought the movie was amazing but the one that really stood out was That they left the joker in a room with only one guard and without handcuffs. GTFO. That is just stupid. And the whole notion that the Joker got caught on purpose when his only way of escape is stupidity on the part of the police is ridiculous. :
Milkman delivers
First, let me start by saying: WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO suspension over. Now, to business...I think it was stupid that they killed off Two Face so quickly. I thought he would be the bad guy in the next movie, and it'd be great to have a villain with a built-in back story. The Dark Knight seemed kind of like it was putting too much in one movie. I still think it was a great movie, though. Iron Man was better. This includes Strange Wilderness. I had to remind myself it was Heath Ledger playing joker and not some retard with makeup on. Good thing he's not around to make a pencil dissapear, haha no just kidding, you're entitled to your own opinion. I went in thinking it wouldn't live up to the hype but it certainly did in my opinion. Edited July 19, 2008 by WilliamTell

Plus, Batman and half of the police force had just rushed out of the police department looking for Dent and Dawes, so there wasnt really a lot of people left behind anyways. I agree, it was pretty dumb to leave him without the handcuffs though
Milkman delivers
Ha, we might as well give Heath the Oscar now. Even if someone gives a better supporting performance, the fact that he died after filming combined with his "amazing," "incredible," "stunning," and "breathtaking" performance pretty much wraps it up for him. I already think the movie is going to annoy me soon with all the fellating going on. Batman Begins was better, despite Katie Holmes.

Notice how Joker was talking s*** at first and the guard didn't respond? And yeah, it was kind of stupidity on the part of the police, but they were trying to save Harvey Dent who the Commish and Batman knew could be the savior and white light for Gotham City. They also had to save Rachel Dawes as well for the sake of Batman and Harvey Dent. Without Harvey though, regardless if Joker was dead or stayed locked up, everything Batman was working for was lost. That's why they introduced him and killed him in the same film. The whole movie wasn't about Joker and Batman. It was about the greater good against an even greater evil. Milkman delivers
I have a question. I swear Batman said he was going after Rachel when he left, but then he ended up getting Dent. Did I not hear correctly, or did Joker lie to him?

Maybe others, but not me. i love both movies, but the roles of each character in TDk are so much more defined, the conflict that Batman has to deal with is so much greater, I thought that it was a much better movie overall. there was no lull like there was in BB(the flashback scenes, any part of the movie containing Katie Holmes), it was just nonstop action. SoxFan1
I came into the movie with ridiculously high expectations and it met them and went above them. Ledger was phenomenal as Joker. He is so much darker and more evil than anything we've seen in any other Batman movie. The only thing that bothered me was how Gordon came back from the dead. Thats the only real "plot hole" I'd say. Everything else made sense for the most part. I just assume he had on a bullet proof vest or something and it was staged from the beginning. Overall, it was an amazing movie, and seeing it in IMAX made it that much better. The one word that I always say is enthralling. It grabs you from the beginning and never lets go. The action scenes were top notch, and I definitely don't feel like I was there 2:40.

G&T
QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jul 19, 2008 -> 07:50 PM) What holes?! How many things can happen in a movie without showing how they happened before you get annoyed? For now, I'll accept the constant Batman appearing and disappearing. How did the bombs get on the boats? Because they said so? How do Rachael and Harvey get strapped to bombs? How does Batman suddenly have the ability to use every phone for "sonar" and create that what-have-you for Fox without anyone knowing? The side of Harvey that turns him into two face is never developed. Everything in the movie just happens. To me it becomes lazy after a while. I don't really want to hear all the answers that they give in the movie. I get it with the corrupt cops and whatever. I liked the movie but there's too much unexplained or under-explained for me to give it the praise most are giving. There's more, but I can't remember it all right now. ANSWER: The Joker consolidated all of the crime syndicates in the entire city, all of the thugs were at his disposal. How do Rachael and Harvey get strapped to bombs? ANSWER: both of them were kidnapped, Gordon's assistant Ramirez tipped off the Joker pretty much every time. Dawes was put in the police cruiser with a crooked cop, I cant remember right now how Dent was kidnapped, but it was along the same lines How does Batman suddenly have the ability to use every phone for "sonar" and create that what-have-you for Fox without anyone knowing? ANSWER: Remember when Fox asked why Wayne diverted funds from Applied sciences to another department, and Bruce Wayne said it was a government contract, and when questioned about it Wayne replied "Im playing this one close to the chest". Wayne was having someone develop the technology outside of Fox because he knew Fox would have a moral problem with it The side of Harvey that turns him into two face is never developed. ANSWER: I really dont know what you mean here. He was playing with the coin throughout the movie, he mentioned his nickname "Harvey Two Face" in his first meeting with Gordon. He was obsessed with the concept of chance. When he finally was pushed over the edge when Rachel died, it manifested itself in him in such a way that you either lived or died by the flip of a coin. G&T
Kyyle, I get all that. I know what they said. Take Two Face: where did they show his vulnerability to go after the police? If anything he did everything possible to do the right thing no matter the consequences then suddenly he changed when it was convenient to the plot. Really think about what happened in the movie. You merely point to the superficialities of the character...his name and coin flip. But there is more to it than that. And who made all that sonar stuff? Bruce didn't have time for that...right? I mean, he had to go to Hong Kong. I guess I forgot about Rachael being in the cop car and getting kidnapped, but I still can't remember it. that's fine. And I'll repeat. I like the movie. But for the praise I've read I'd say there are a lot of things we don't see and a lot we are just forced to accept. When he was interrogating the Joker's fake cop who helped "kill" Gordon, he was showing the evil side of him, so to speak. Thats when Batman came and told him you can't put chance as a decision for everything. Then, after Dent finds out that Rachel is dead, the feelings of revenge overcome him. Also, don't forget the little pep-talk Joker had with him in the hospital. If anything, I'd say the development of Dent into the evil Two Face was VERY apparent, it just might have been overshadowed a bit, or more so, going on in the background, as Joker was creating chaos in Gotham. Steve9347
Plot Holes: Batman speaking as "batman" to Lucious. Come the f*** on. That voice STILL must hurt your throat, Lucious knows your secret, just talk like Bruce f***ing Wayne. Two Face flips coin, italian dude is "ok" so he flips again... shoots driver, car flips everyone dead. Um, soooooo Two Face was IN THE f***ING CAR!!! Why did he not get f***ed up? The whole Two Face thing was forced and sped up and he should have been saved for another movie. The whole leaving Joker in a holding cell with ONE DUDE in front of BUSTED GLASS no one's that retarded. However, all that being said, I adored the movie and will buy it the day it came out, and MIGHT see it again in the theaters. I wish there was more Bruce Wayne down time, but it was what it was and Ledger deserves a posthumous nod.

Didn't really affect my opinion much. The 2nd one...he put the seat-belt on before he shot the driver...I would guess thats what saved him. I don't think the makers saw potential for a movie all about Two-Face. And the busted glass had nothing to do with Jokers escape, IIRC.
