I'm guessing we'll see somebody called up for a spot start (or be the long man backing up Masset if he starts).

If they bring up someone to start....

Haeger started on Saturday. Broadway is pitching on Sunday (game already started). So those two are likely out.

Whisler could be in line, but he's not on the 40-man.

I'd love to see them bring up Clayton Richard.

But I'm guessing Egbert, who would be pitching on 5-days rest on Tuesday and has been throwing very well lately.

Clayton Richard has been called up from Triple-A Charlotte.

i looked around online and couldnt find anything of a scouting report on him.

whats the deal?

only thing i saw was that rotoworld says he is to be " the next heath phillips of the white sox farm system"

I've listened to a few of his starts via mlb audio.

His fastball was in the 92-93 range.

He threw off speed pitches that dropped down to around 77-78.

Don't remember much about his repertoire, but do remember he threw an effective curve in the games I heard.

right on dude, thanks

this has to be a showcase for a trade, no?

Maybe. But who knows?

If he looks decent, I'd keep him around for pitching depth. Can never have enough pitching in a pennant race.

Especially the way Contreras and Javy have been throwing lately.

with the exception of russells last outing i liked what i saw from him and frankly id rather have him on the roster than masset, but im excited to see richard....when he was drafted not a lot of people expected too much out of him,

Ive seen him pitch twice this year. The sox are pretty high on him. He looked great in the southern league.

Kind of remind's me of Buehrle a little bit, little more on the fastball though. Obviously doesnt have the stuff Mark does, but he has an excellent move and is quick to the plate. He also works very fast.

Hope that helps
