QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 25, 2008 -> 07:58 PM)
Ozzie is a genius.

1. Put in Masset so he can seemingly blow the game.

2. Watch JD break Detroits heart

3. Bobby shuts it down 1-2-3

4. Detroit demoralized for the next 2 games

Kept the big boys fresh for the next games if needed. Sometimes you just have to throw out the b team and let them pitch.

Bad error, but not a bad offensive night for Fields.

The walk was good to see. Didn't help the pitcher out, and he started that 3 run 7th with a base hit up the middle if I'm not mistaken.

Nice movement on Carrasco's pitches tonight as well, and he got a 'W' he deserves.

Bobby had Granderson and Polanco confused with the early count curveballs, the sequence to Granderson (Fast, curve, fast, curve) had him all over the place.

Buster Olney mentioned on Mike and Mike this morning that the Tigers are on the fence on whether to be buyers or sellers at the deadline since if they lose the next 3 games they'd be 9 games out of the playoffs in the loss column. I don't totally buy what Buster is selling but the thought of ending the Tigger's season in late July makes me feel all warm and fuzzy in side.
