joeynach
ESPN just reported Liriano will get called up and rejoin the Twins next week. Lucky us, he gets back just in time to face the sox.

BlackBetsy
Seems about right...Twins trying to give themselves a morale boost / psychological edge on the Sox, especially if Liriano has a good first start. Hopefully, the Sox will be 5 1/2 games up on the Twins by Monday.

JDsDirtySox
Not So Fast... http://www.startribune.com/sports/twins/25...hlightModules:2 Looks like he might be in AAA a little while longer.
maggsmaggs
Bring on Liriano. He ain't the same pitcher he was before the injury and probably won't be cause his slider won't be near as wicked. Liriano ain't a slouch, he still probably will be a top of the rotation guy, but I don't think he will be as dominant as he was.

That funky motion
Debunking some previous rumors of a possible promotion, manager Ron Gardenhire announced Friday that Francisco Liriano will start Sunday for Triple-A Rochester. Liriano is, of course, 9-0 at Triple-A and really has nothing left to prove in the minors. He has a 0.29 ERA with 42 strikeouts in his last five starts. Yet, the Twins are hesitant to give up on Livan Hernandez, or any other pitcher for that matter.

I saw him against Charlotte earlier this year before he got hot. Fields and Wise didn't play that day though.

harfman77
The only reason that he has not been called up yet is because the Twinkies want to keep his service time down and delay him reaching arbitration. I think Slowey has 9.00 ERA in July, but he is a better option.
