Why is it that people don't want to win because of injury? Would people prefer to lose when the other team is healthy? Just honestly curious

I don't give a s*** whether opposing players are injured or not. I don't wish it upon them, but if they are injured, I'm not going to say I'm saddened by any stretch of the imagination, and if said injury helps my team win more games, then it's even better. At the end of the day, I'll take the win whether the opponent is healthy or not.

I agree...........that why I'm pulling for a strong case of food poisioning or something similar for this series! Grinding it out baby!

How about the J Dye? I am glad we kept him on this team and hope he stays awhile longer. AJP did a good job and it was good to see Thornton throwing good. We will need that lefty in Minny this week. It might be that Konerko breask out of his slump too. I am seeing good signs from the contact he is making and eventually some of those balls he hits will find their way through. PK is key to our stretch run I think and I believe he will come through.

I know a lot of people here take no stock in pitcher's win/loss records, but you have to find it peculiar that Vazquez was 11-12 when the Sox won 90 games, 15-8 when they lost 90 games and 7-9 on a team that's been in first place most of the year. I wouldn't characterize it as a guy who has to grow a pair necessarily, maybe he's too revved up. Whatever it is, its not good, and needs to be fixed quickly.

Not to mention Vazquez succeeding admirably in a place where nobody cares (Montreal) and failing in the high-pressure environment of New York. This has been mentioned before and I'm beginning to believe that there might be something to it.
