BigSqwert
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 10:34 AM) His approach on those balls is 100% backwards. Instead of going to the ball and scooping it out, he is falling back to wait out the hop. That technique is not right at all. I don't know what his deal is this year but I think Paulie is a better defensive 1B then Swish.
NorthSideSox72
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 10:35 AM) I don't know what his deal is this year but I think Paulie is a better defensive 1B then Swish. I think Swish is better overall, but, they do both have certain aspects of the game they excel at. Swish has better range and a better arm. Paulie is better handling bad throws. Balta1701
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 08:08 AM) I think Swish is better overall, but, they do both have certain aspects of the game they excel at. Swish has better range and a better arm. Paulie is better handling bad throws. But, at least from what I've seen...the picking/handling bad throws part is a skill that can be learned. You can't learn range or learn arm.
Felix
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 10:27 PM) Benched yes, cut no. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 9, 2008 -> 11:42 PM) I will be the first to admit I was hating on both of them and even wanted Swish benched or merely released.
