joejoesox
QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 01:39 PM) 2:37pm: Jeff Blair talked to a source who thinks the White Sox might move one of their outfield-DH types for pitching help. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2008/07/white-sox-acqui.html DH implies poor defensive player, Outfield implies defensive player Thome is our DH, only other person I can think of is Brian Anderson or D Wise
DBAHO
Only player I could think it would be is Nick Swisher. Doesn't make sense to sell low on him though really, when he's got a manageable contract.
NorthSideSox72
The only guy on the Sox who I would describe as a "OF/DH type" is Dye, and there is no way they are trading him for pitching help.

NorthSideSox72
I suppose they could mean a minor leaguer, like a David Cook or something.

kwolf68
Dye is going nowhere...he's one of the few guys in the lineup who has brought it every day of every game. He is not replaceable...Thome, PK, Swisher...deal them if you get the offer. Dye? Hell no.

kwolf68
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 02:52 PM) My brother heard the Sox are talking to the Marlins, who are interested in Brian Anderson That really makes sense, because the Marlins were in on him last year I think. I could see Tankersley being of interest to the Sox...he is a nasty lefty who hasn't really settled in with Florida yet. He's probably a future closer. Don't know that I'd go BA for him straight up though, because he hasn't really excelled consistently at the major league level yet and I don't know that you could really count on him for this year, which is what any trade Kenny makes would be subject to.
