Kenny Hates Prospects
Who is your pick if Ozzie stays with 12 pitchers? I'm going with Link (1), Rodriguez (2), and my dark horse is Poreda.

Kenny Hates Prospects
I guess if Jose comes back Richard could stay up and take over at LR. That's a real possibility too.
SoxFan1
DJ Carrasco. I'd say our pen looks something like this once they get healthy... LR Carrasco MR 1 Dotel (7th inning man) MR 2 Thornton MR 3 Wasserman LOOGY Logan SU Linebrink CL Jenks
Kenny Hates Prospects
QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 03:28 PM) Carrasco Don't you think he's pretty much earned himself a set-up type role though? I kind of do. The Sox really seem to like him. I think they'll end up using him a lot more than they used Masset.

Unless there's no one else available I don't want him up in those situations.

WilliamTell
I'd prefere Ozzie to go with 11 pitchers, then we could keep both Wise and Anderson up.
----------
QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 04:41 PM) I'd prefere Ozzie to go with 11 pitchers, then we could keep both Wise and Anderson up. Why? They will rarely play. And I mean rarely.
knightni
My feel... Tonight is another showcase for Wise. He may be a waiver trade.
WilliamTell
QUOTE (Maxwell @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 06:50 PM) Why? They will rarely play. And I mean rarely. Anderson the best outfielder defensively on the team and Wise brings speed off the bench.
BurlyMan56
Macdougal? He's piched well as of late, won't be used much and of course is getting paid a couple mil by Reinsdorf
joejoedairy
Richard should stay up to be the lefty that replaces logan. Carrasco and wass stay til liney comes back and whoever is doing worse out of those 2 goes down.
southsider2k5
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 03:34 PM) I think they were using Masset pretty well until he started imploding at around the time they tried to increase his usage. Which should have been a dead giveaway in hindsight that he wasn't long for Chicago. They tried both years he was up here to get him into a bigger role and he fell down on the job both times. NorthSideSox72
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 03:45 PM) nah, he's a long man. Jose and Liney take Richard and Masset's spots on the 25 man. Agree, in the long term. But there is still the question of what happens between now and the time that Linebrink returns. Do they just go with one less in the pen until then, with Griffey taking Masset's roster spot? Or do they call someone up (Childers, MacDougal, Russell, whomever) in the short term? And for those who keep saying that MacD has been doing well lately, I am not sure where you get that idea. His last 10 appearances, he has a 5.40 ERA, a 1.97 WHIP. His Avg Against in June-July is .297, and his OBP Against is .391. He's not doing any better, he's the same MacDougal he's been all season. If we call someone up for a week or two before Liney is ready, I'd like to see Childers, or Russell again.

Texsox
Basically it is a question only until September 1. There could DL shuffles all the way until that date. Seems like there are a couple candidates.
scenario
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 09:45 AM) True...but he was out of options and who would have thought some other team would be interested in him? Very true. Remember back to spring training when everyone wanted Wasserman to come north with the team, even if it meant releasing Masset. And how ticked off people were that it seemed Massett was only on the roster because of the options situation. Who would've thunk back then, that he would be part of a trade bringing Ken Griffey to the southside? I think people would've been happy to get Griffey's baseball card for Masset back then.
