kane0730
It will be intersting to see the line-up tonight. I read something this morning about Ozzie hitting Griffey 7th. So, I'm guessing: OC AJ CQ Dye Thome Lexi Griffey Swisher Fields/Uribe
BigSqwert
Based on recent history between these teams I do not except a pitcher's duel.
knightni
I could see: OC AJ CQ Thome Dye Griffey Lexi Swisher Fields/Uribe Ozzie's obsession with lefty/righty alternating will rear its ugly head, yet again.
Frankensteiner
QUOTE (kane0730 @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 10:43 AM) It will be intersting to see the line-up tonight. I read something this morning about Ozzie hitting Griffey 7th. So, I'm guessing: OC AJ CQ Dye Thome Lexi Griffey Swisher Fields/Uribe I would stick Fields in between Griffey and Swisher. Or maybe even bat him 6th. Managers could bring a lefty for Thome, Griffey, and Swisher. Sticking Lexi in between is fine but I'd also put Fields in between there somewhere. Fields crushes lefties and this would prevent opposing managers from bringing in their specialists to mow our guys down.
Balta1701
QUOTE (knightni @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 09:21 AM) Ozzie's obsession with lefty/righty alternating will rear its ugly head, yet again. Is that a bad thing? Especially with Griffey and Thome in the lineup? Griffey's hitting .212 against lefties and has an OPS 116 points lower than he does against righties. And I'm still not sold that Thome has suddenly at his age figured out how to hit lefties but forgot how to hit righties.
whitesoxfan99
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 11:36 AM) Is that a bad thing? Especially with Griffey and Thome in the lineup? Griffey's hitting .212 against lefties and has an OPS 116 points lower than he does against righties. And I'm still not sold that Thome has suddenly at his age figured out how to hit lefties but forgot how to hit righties. As long as he keeps going to left field Thome will be fairly effective against lefties. THe thing is I still have no confidence in him against lefty specialists late in games and that is where having Thome and Griffey back to back would be problematic. Harry Chappas
I am not in the mood to see Josh Fields play. I am also hoping the wilting flower that is Javier Vazquez can look sharp. That is all.
GoSox05
Javy needs to turn it around. I'm sick of his nonsense.

oralsoxpodcast
Any predictions about Griffey's performance tonight? How many homeruns? How many errors? I'll predict 1 HR and 0 errors, just to start him off on a positive note.

Dick Allen
Griffey will go 4-4 with at least 2 grand slams. Vazquez will get lit up, but Griffey will make a game saving catch deep in CF with 2 out in the 9th running up the wall and then throwing the ball into the fountains with joy, and a White Sox victory. GreatScott82
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 12:47 PM) That sounds about right. haha that would be something. I just hope Javy can keep them at 4. He has been pretty shaky lately. KGJ will go 2-3 with a walk and 2 RBIs. BTW it was pretty classy for Swish to give up his number to Griffey. This is by far the most excited i have been before a game since opening day! Do we still need better relief pitching- yes. Do we need to play better defense -yes. But i never thought i'd see the day Ken Griffey would wear a Sox uniform. White Sox baseball, expect the un-expected! Lets start a winning streak! Hopefully, 3 months, but I would think the over/under is less than 2, especially if he plays CF regularly.
