whitesoxfan101
The ACC Coastal division could be fun. It's not very good, but it's so wide open. Duke and Virginia are just awful, but the other four teams (DA U, UNC, Georgia Tech, and Virginia Tech) all have a very good chance to get into the ACC Championship game and play for a BCS bid. Oh, and if you have a chance, watch the game tonight. It's Kansas at South Florida, and it could be fantastic. I like South Florida in this one though, they have too many athletes for Kansas to handle and are better than any team the Jayhawks beat last year. I'll take Kansas based almost entirely on QB play.

I'm going to make the assumption that it'll be a full house tonight in Tampa (or close to it) and Raymond James Stadium really doesn't get enough credit for how loud it is. You can't hear a thing in that place. Combine that with the speed South Florida has on defense, and Matt Grothe at QB, and I like their chances. I think it will be a VERY good game though, lower scoring and decided by a touchdown or less. The real x-factor to me is whether or not Reesing can fit his passes in past the speedy and talented db's of SFLA.

Whether or not he can fit the ball into tight areas, as well as how SFLA tackles, will be huge. If Kansas wins tonight, I would be very impressed. This would be more impressive a win than any they had last year, including the Orange Bowl. Not as important obviously, but more impressive IMO. JuiceCruz16
QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Sep 11, 2008 -> 09:22 PM) Well at least one of my teams won tonight on a crazy night. It has already rained over 8 inches in Lubbock today and is still pouring. This is just nuts. I'm very happy with how the Heels played last night, but damn New Jersey University looked awful. UNC has a couple tough ones on the horizon I hope they can springboard this win to a nice roll through a winnable ACC.
whitesoxbrian
If the Bears have a top 7 pick, I'd love to see George Selvie (USF DE) playing for us next year as Ogunleye is aging.

Oline and WR have to be the areas the Bears address before they touch any other position. QB would be an option if a QB was worthy of going at the Bears particular selection (but I don't think one will be). Plus dare I say it, Orton is going to turn me into a believer. whitesoxfan101
QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 12, 2008 -> 10:29 PM) USF/Kansas is the game of the year so far. Absolutely fantastic game, had just about everything you'd want in a great one. I was way off thinking it would be low scoring, but it was of no surprise to me that USF won a very close and very good game. It's a shame they put this game on a Friday night on ESPN2 so a lot of people didn't see it, but I'm glad I did. I think the wind pushed that game winning field goal by USF back through the uprights. It looked to be fading but it suddenly pushed back just far enough to sneak in. Edited September 13, 2008 by whitesoxfan101
dasox24
QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Sep 12, 2008 -> 02:56 PM) If the Bears have a top 7 pick, I'd love to see George Selvie (USF DE) playing for us next year as Ogunleye is aging. As good as Selvie may be, if the Bears take another defensive player early in the draft, well, I don't even know what I'd do... They need to target another OT or a #1 WR in the 1st round assuming the roster is pretty similar by next April. QB obviously has to be considered as well, but I really don't think we'll be drafting high enough to warrant taking one in the 1st, unless a ton of underclassmen really step it up this year and all come out for the draft. edit: well, i just noticed i pretty much wrote the same thing jason did above, so sorry jas... still, the point remains the same. Offense, offense, offense. Edited September 13, 2008 by dasox24
whitesoxfan99
Michigan looks awful. And for the Michigan fans on this board, why does Morgan Trent play? What an awful CB. Edit: And in typical fashion, as soon as I rip on a player he makes a big play. Edited September 13, 2008 by whitesoxfan99

Our WR's can't block in this offense and our O-line isn't mobile enough to block in this offense. Let's fumble some more balls! Jesus! Totally winnable even after being down 21-0 and they just suck. Threet isn't horrible but he isn't very good either.

whitesoxfan101
This could turn out to be a truly embarassing day for the Big 10. Michigan looked pathetic (me having them going 5-7 looks optimistic right now), Purdue blows a huge lead at home to Oregon, Illinois struggles at home against the Ragin Cajuns. I understand Iowa did their job, but if Wisconsin and Ohio State blow lose tonight (which would be no surprise), everybody will be laughing at the Big 10, as usual. I get tired of watching this. knightni
QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Sep 13, 2008 -> 09:25 PM) Thank god the preseason is finally over (115-7 in two games); that stuff got so boring. Now there's a huge game with Wake next Saturday. Florida State rarely plays any serious non-conference games (minus Florida). The ACC's not that great, either. 9/6 WESTERN CAROLINA Tallahassee - meh 9/13 UT-CHATTANOOGA Tallahassee - ehh 9/20 WAKE FOREST Tallahassee - doubtful 9/27 Colorado Jacksonville - not the same as it used to be 10/4 Miami Miami - decent 10/11 Open week 10/16 NC State Raleigh, NC (Thurs night) - ehh 10/25 VA TECH Tallahassee (Parent's Weekend) - pretty good 11/1 Georgia Tech Atlanta, GA - decent 11/8 CLEMSON Tallahassee - decent 11/15 B.C. Tallahassee - hopefully good 11/22 Maryland College Park, MD - meh 11/29 FLORIDA Tallahassee - good
