Milkman delivers
TRASH. Go back to the minors, and get used to the scenery. You'll be there the rest of your career.
whitesoxfan101
Keep Richard in. The game is over, try and save the bullpen.

joejoesox
5-0 LOL Hey guys, I think I was over-confident a few days ago when I said we should win this division Detroit could easily pass us in the standings in about 2-3 weeks, no doubt. Not with this starting rotation or bullpen.
winninguglyin83
10-run rule? going to be a delightful flight home.

Sox It To Em
Have a feeling this will be Clayton Richard's last big-league start.
elrockinMT
He gives up the homer too. Insult to injury and we are down 5-0 with a pitching staff that looks like a bunch of little league players right now. What are they doing playing T-ball? joejoesox
This POS cannot keep his pitches down, it's terrible GET THE BALL DOWN, OR EVERYTHING IS GONNA BE A HARD LINE DRIVE, IT'S THAT SIMPLE. Jesus Christ I'm pissed off right now
elrockinMT
My guess is Ozzie leaves Richard in for the third and when questioned about it the "F bomb" will fly
whitesoxfan101
QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Aug 3, 2008 -> 01:42 PM) 5-0 LOL Hey guys, I think I was over-confident a few days ago when I said we should win this division Detroit could easily pass us in the standings in about 2-3 weeks, no doubt. Not with this starting rotation or bullpen. Detroit isn't going to pass us because they aren't any good, and you are right to say we SHOULD win the division. Just like we probably should have in 2003 and 2006. Thing is, we tend to never win when it's a close race. I think more and more by the day that our farm system is a big reason too, because as I said a second ago, you need farm system help during the dog days of July and August when people are hurt/need rest, and the Twins get it every year while we don't. justBLAZE
Detroit is a .500 team. But yes, this game turned s***ty rather quick.
caulfield12
QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 3, 2008 -> 01:42 PM) Can't believe I am hoping Contreras gets back soon. 11.81 ERA Why can't we EVER seem to produce a decent starting pitcher??? It seems that we should be able to find a starting pitcher more than once a decade (Mark Buehrle).
fathom
Will Ozzie treat this like yesterday and pull some of our starters?
Metz
That error may have bitten Richard, but Gload would not have been out if we got Olivo ... the score would just be 4-0 instead ... but yeah Richard was hyped up a bit too much ... i think we did the Olympic team a favor by taking him off their roster

winninguglyin83
got four with the BoSox next weekend. Gonna be the same kind of beatdown they delivered last year with the arms we have now. If Linebrink and Contreras don't come back and contribute we are cooked.

elrockinMT
Game Day on MLB must already be writing the Sox off. The single by Swisher was first listed as an out. I guess they just figured what the heck?
winninguglyin83
QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 3, 2008 -> 06:46 PM) Because the pitchers in our minor league system have terrible stuff? because our drafting and player development is simply horrible, among the worst in baseball. whitesoxfan101
I really don't think anybody with a concept of Clayton Richard's stuff thought he would be any good. He's just a AAAA lefty, and they are a dime a dozen.
