Ordonez on the Block

Even though I wonder about the credibility of the Score and its reporting...

Its hard to imagine one of our most consistent players on the block...

But, I can see why he might be there, clearly has been inconsistent this year...

Any truth to this at all?

And if it is, I would expect a lot in return...

Nah, score is usually pretty good about stuff and they have some pretty good sources. That being said i doubt they'd move Maggs, who should be built around.

lmao.. what score radio do you listen to... the one here is full of s*** most times.......if not all the time..........

Here's what I have to say about all the recent rumors and speculation:

Paul Konerko's hips are in good shape, Jerry Manuel isn't getting fired, Kenny Willaims is the General Manager and Magglio Ordonez won't get traded.

Mags is one of the few players we wouldn't trade. Plus, the Marlins want to build around Willis. He is becoming a fan favorite down in Florida. They had the second best game time ticket sales when he pitched a little bit ago. Why would the Marlins trade two cheap, very productive players. The trade would be bad for both teams. The only way Mags could go, is if its for a top rate superstar, not going to happen.

What about Mags and Crede for Lowell, Willis and Pierre?

For one, why in the hell would Florida even consider dealing Willis? or Pierre for that matter?

Maggs makes more money than Lowell, so that makes no sense.

Deals have to make financial sense as well as sense on the field. These don't.

Not to mention the sox are seriously downgrading their team with that deal. Pierre and Lowell are having career years. In a regular season, once Crede gets a year or so under his belt, him and lowell are basically the same player. Willis is a good pitcher, pierre is a decent CF, but to give up maggs for those 2 guys? No way.

The only way Maggs goes anywhere during the season is if the Sox are still 5 to 7 back and under .500 come the deadline. Then, and only then would KW move him to a contender. We would get a ton of top prospects in return and he is due 14 Mil. next year and not willing to renegociate his deal to help the team. His #s this year are not worth 14 Mil.

Remember, it is JR, anything can happen!

Mags isn't going anywhere this season, regardless of the standings. If he gets traded, it will be next season nearing the trading deadline and I wouldn't be surprised to see him stay with the Sox long term.

I think their may be some truth to this. When you think about it the Sox have all the outfielders they need. While we never would think of Maggs as the guy to go, if the right offer came up the Sox could move Maggs to fill some big time needs.

Not sure what the Sox would get though, but It would have to be an all star player and great young player thats already having sucess at the major league level.

I wouldn't declare anyone "untouchable"...for the right price, anyone can be moved on this team. I guess it depends how fast our minor league guys develop and get to the big leagues

Agreed. The one thing is if the Sox move Magglio I'd see them adding a major league outfielder in the deal (Maybe Brian Giles) and some other things.

Maggs is really valuable.

Lets say its the Pads that are interested and that may be the case.

You'd definately ask for Jake Peavy (The kid is damn good) and then Klesko and Burroughs. I'd really hold out for Burroughs. While you could get someone like Kotsay Burroughs is way good.

Still, don't even think I'd make that deal.

The Reds or Marlins could be interested. Marlins if they want to get a dominican guy that has a ton of ability and are willing to pay the money (Not likely)
