whitesoxfan101
So sad. Nobody should ever die as young as 50, and Bernie Mac was a great comedian who did well to represent where he was from. RIP.
Steff
QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 9, 2008 -> 10:24 AM) That's what I was hinting at, I bet that was the case. The disease he had, sarcoidosis which is an inflammatory lung disease that produces tiny lumps of cells in the body's organs, was in remission since before the WS in 2005. He was very open about it. The official COD is "complications due to pneumonia" which could be anything under the sun. I had heard that he had taken a turn for the worse on Wednesday and had to be bagged. FWIH, there was a steady stream of out of town visitors as well so I think those closest to him knew his time was limited. Very sad indeed. Swingandalongonetoleft
I was in Florida watching the news a few days ago when Morgan Freeman got into his accident. Mac being admitted was just a sentance tacked on to the end of that story, and I didn't give it a second thought. Wow, RIP. Everything save for the Illinois Lottery commercials was awesome, and he was funny as hell. He'll be missed.
wilmot825
Comedian and White Sox fan Bernie Mac Dies at the age of 50. Sad to lose someone so funny, but also from the White Sox fan base. He did 2 things all Sox fans dream of: saw the South Siders win the World Series and Sabotaged the Cubs in 2004 with his "take me out to the ballgame" in the famous Game 6 by proclaiming the Cubs "Root root root for the CHAMPS." whitesoxbrian
QUOTE (robinventura23 @ Aug 9, 2008 -> 09:48 AM) RIP. So young at only 50. I remember laughing my a$$ off at Kings of Comedy. He was one of the best. Got that right. "Milk and Cookies". RIP

Chisoxfn
RIP to Bernie. Seemed like a hell of a guy and was an entertaining comedian.
WilliamTell
QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 9, 2008 -> 11:18 AM) I remember when he sang the 7th inning stretch in Game 6 for Cubs/Marlins and said "Root, root, root for the champs!" and cursed them even more. I'll love him for that. It's pathetic that Cubs fans blame him for the loss along with Bartman. Don't blame Bernie Mac, don't blame Bartman, blame your players. At the time I was pretty pissed he called the Cubs CHAMPS.
