maggsmaggs
QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 9, 2008 -> 06:37 PM) That's the last we've seen of Contreras this season. And it's sad cause he looked pretty good. Stuff wise, he looked like the April version.

maggsmaggs
My god, if we lose the division by a game or so, we might look back at a routine play that you do hundreds of times in spring training as the cause.
justBLAZE
KW gonna get a lot of s*** now for not getting us pitching. Russell should thank Swisher for getting him a job.

Harry Chappas
Last night was the epitome of why the White Sox can stagnate on offense and what theRed Sox excel at. Working a pitcher. The Sox refuse to let the pitcher work. Every Red Sox at-bat seems to go at least 5 pitches. On an other point I referred to Manny as the Boogyman. He seemed to affect every pitch in my mind and I thought the same of certain pitchers. After the homerun last night there wasn't that feeling, "oh s*** gotta get Ortiz because you don't want to face Manny." I think this affected how pitchers worked to the 9 through 2 guys. Manny had a presence that I am sure glad to miss. As good as Youkilis, Lowell and Bay are, they are not Manny.

Balta1701
QUOTE (Chopper2Hopper @ Aug 9, 2008 -> 03:40 PM) How's that waiver wire look, Kenny? I'll bet Washburn will get through, but some other team (Yankees) might try a claim/trade before we get a shot at him.

Balta1701
Frankly if Jose is out I don't see how you can avoid giving Garcia a tryout if he's got anything on his fastball.
