I am tossing Time Warner out. They absolutly suck here the past 5 months. In comparing Dish Network packages it shows White Sox games. Anyone out of the area getting Sox games via Dish Network as part of their standard package?

We ditched Comcast for AT&T which is partners with Dish Network, and all I can tell you is that when MLB and Comcast were having problems negotiating with making the Extra Innings packagae available, they were as well with Dish Network. Difference is, they came to a deal with Comcast. Extra Innings is NOT available on Dish Network.

You will probably have to be in the Chicago Land area to get all the Sox games.

According to the Dish Network website, the package includes Comcast Chicago which they claim carriers the Bulls and Sox subject to blackout.

The black out rules mean that all sporting events will be blacked out unless you live in the Chicago area. Since you are in Texas you will be able to watch Comcast Chicago up until game time and at that point it will be blacked out.

Dish Network is the worse option for anyone out of the Chicago area that wants to follow the Sox via Extra Innings (now if you prefer to go the MLB.TV route than obviously Dish Network is an option).

The best option is DirectTV since you'd practically get every Sox game in HD. But I still believe a really good cable company is cheaper than DirectTV (due to the hefty equipment cost involving DirectTV (Well if you plan on getting HD/DVR).

I'm thrilled with my Cox Cable. They added an exclusive HD Soccer & Basketball channel specifically for the olympics to go with like 4 other channels that are in HD carrying the olympics. Plus I got an MLBHD channel which gets me maybe 2-3 Sox games a month in HD (not a ton, but better than nothing, plus I get usually 2 out of market HD games a night).

The issue I have here is the poor reliability of Time Warner internet and telephone. I finally am back on line after being down for nearly two days for a wide area problem. No Olmpics opening at my house. Prior to that I was down for a day for a local problem. In April and May I was without service for an hour or two every day. Always between eleven and two. They could not find the problem. I was gone June and July, so who knows what it was doing. Then I come back in August and the problems start again. Their "free" phone (bundled) is too expensive compared to a regular phone that would actually work. I burn up so many cell phone minutes calling to try and get this fixed.

I'm going to look at the Direct TV bundles, or I may just keep my cable tv, that seems to work most of the time and just switch telecoms.
