fathom
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 12, 2008 -> 02:43 AM) It's painfully obvious we need to add pitchers. Anyone who denies it is just ignoring a gaping, growing hole. The bullpen is entirely hit or miss, and we're going to have a black hole in the 5th starter spot. If KW doesn't add some depth, we go nowhere. You know what's amazing about our bullpen....outside of Jenks, not a single one of them has a good offspeed pitch. Milkman delivers
QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Aug 11, 2008 -> 09:43 PM) if we can just keep pace with the twins, who have also not played all that great..., once they start playing Oakland, LAA, and Tampa on the road.. i like our chances So, basically we just have to keep playing .500 ball and expect the Twins to play worse than that. fathom
QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Aug 12, 2008 -> 02:44 AM) This forum always gives me a chuckle after a loss. We will get a big win, and there will be 4-5 posts saying good job. For a loss, there's 4000 posts calling for half the team to be DFA'd, traded, rebuilt. Good laughs. What a new and original thought.
jenksycat
QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 11, 2008 -> 09:40 PM) Twins are in great position to win 7 or 8 of their next 9 games. Kinda like how they destroyed the worst team in baseball up in Seatle. The Twins are unstopable.

The Twins are unstopable. Yeah, or maybe it's because they're playing at home now. I just saw they're going to miss Felix Hernandez again this wknd. Go back and read all the posts from the Mariners/Twins series, and how everyone was making comments about how their luck is gone due to not being at the s***hole. Well, they're back at the s***hole with some very favorable pitching match-ups. Edited August 12, 2008 by fathom

elrockinMT
QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 12, 2008 -> 03:43 AM) MLB says that Lance Broadway replaced Matt Thornton and then Lance replaces Lance. Very intersting managerial moves here. The confusion must have worked cause at least Lance gets the third out. It was about 6 batters too late, but what the heck right? WCSox
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 11, 2008 -> 07:43 PM) If KW doesn't add some depth, we go nowhere. This team already has assloads of depth. The problem is that much of that depth (Konerko, Griffey, Swisher, Crede, Contreras, Linebrink, Thornton, Logan, Dotel) isn't producing right now. You can only spend so much on a team. If these guys can't hit, pitch, or stay healthy, it's on them. Edited August 12, 2008 by WCSox

joejoesox
concept is pretty simple, as long as we hit homeruns that aren't solo-shots, we can win games good pitchers absolve that weakness, though as seen from Beckett tonight
