It's painfully obvious we need to add pitchers. Anyone who denies it is just ignoring a gaping, growing hole. The bullpen is entirely hit or miss, and we're going to have a black hole in the 5th starter spot.

If KW doesn't add some depth, we go nowhere.

You know what's amazing about our bullpen....outside of Jenks, not a single one of them has a good offspeed pitch.

if we can just keep pace with the twins, who have also not played all that great..., once they start playing Oakland, LAA, and Tampa on the road.. i like our chances

So, basically we just have to keep playing .500 ball and expect the Twins to play worse than that.

This forum always gives me a chuckle after a loss. We will get a big win, and there will be 4-5 posts saying good job. For a loss, there's 4000 posts calling for half the team to be DFA'd, traded, rebuilt. Good laughs.

What a new and original thought. :P

Kinda like how they destroyed the worst team in baseball up in Seatle. The Twins are unstopable.

Yeah, or maybe it's because they're playing at home now. I just saw they're going to miss Felix Hernandez again this wknd. Go back and read all the posts from the Mariners/Twins series, and how everyone was making comments about how their luck is gone due to not being at the s***hole. Well, they're back at the s***hole with some very favorable pitching match-ups.

We also need to shuffle the lineup. AJ has no business hitting 2nd.

MLB says that Lance Broadway replaced Matt Thornton and then Lance replaces Lance. Very intersting managerial moves here.

The confusion must have worked cause at least Lance gets the third out. It was about 6 batters too late, but what the heck right?

their fans are convinced we are going to win the division

it's funny the similarities between us

just shows you that both of these teams are massively flawed and not great, the division is a crapshoot at this point

Just out of curiosity, why do their fans feel that way?

Ha, playing to see who gets bounced by the Angels/Rays? It really feels like it. I can definitely see us making the playoffs, but I feel like we'd get dominated by either of those two.

I think it actually shows that most fans are hopelessly pessimistic.

off of the top of my head, a few things they've said were "Our bullpen is terrible", "We can't score runs/we don't hit enough homeruns", "our only good starter is liriano"

I'd rather play the Rays or Angels in the playoffs than the Red Sox. Rays are facing some huge injury issues.

This team already has assloads of depth. The problem is that much of that depth (Konerko, Griffey, Swisher, Crede, Contreras, Linebrink, Thornton, Logan, Dotel) isn't producing right now.

You can only spend so much on a team. If these guys can't hit, pitch, or stay healthy, it's on them.

Typical Twins' fan

1) Our rotation doesn't have anyone after Liriano that you feel confident will win a clutch post-season game

2) Pohlad is cheap, cheap, cheap

3) Adam Everett, Bret Boone, Tony Batista, Livan Hernandez, Craig Monroe, Ponson, Juan Castro, Phil Nevin, Ruben Sierra, Ramon Ortiz, etc.

4) GM's will never trade minor league depth to put them over the top

5) Team keeps "rebuilding" or giving up critical vets (Hunter, David Ortiz, Santana, etc.) that always seem them 1 bat or arm behind in the playoffs

6) Twins will embarass the AL Central by going out in the first round

7) Gardenhire sucks

8) Bill Smith doesn't know how to make a big, splashy move...he's an institutional, IBM type egg counter
