scenario
Charlotte @ Norfolk Charlie Haeger vs. Ryan Bukvich Birmingham @ Tennessee Cassel vs. Veal Winston-Salem @ Lynchburg Anthony Carter pitching Miranda playing SS. Great game for Carter tonight. Looked like the Kannapolis version tonight. 7 innings; 0 runs on 4 hits; 4 K's; 1 walk. Attaboy AC. Kannapolis @ Hickory Socolovich pitching Beckham batting second and playing SS. The Hickory pitcher walked the first 6 guys he faced and got pulled without getting anyone out. A new pitcher came in and served up a slam to Matt Inouye. 7-0 Kanny in the first inning on one hit. LOL. Great Falls @ Idaho Falls Billeaud pitching Princeton @ Bristol - Game 1 Panigua pitching Princeton @ Bristol - Game 2 TBA Edited August 16, 2008 by scenario
maggsmaggs
Good eye from Slayer, well not really probably if the Hickory pitcher walked everybody he faced.
danman31
Wow, what a start to the game. First 6 guys walk, then the reliever gives up a grand slam to the first batter he faces. Slayer batting 1.
Metz
Beckham is batting 1.000 right now! get him up to MLB!
maggsmaggs
QUOTE (JFields27 @ Aug 15, 2008 -> 06:00 PM) Beckham is batting 1.000 right now! get him up to MLB! Haha, I agree!! Put him at third. Seriously though, this guy is not going to have a hard time adjusting to wood bats because he did so well in the Cape Cod League last year. Plus, after not playing live baseball for near two months, he isn't rusty at all it seems. I would love this kid to just rake and finally have another top 50 prospect. It is pretty clear in his fourth at-bat, he is going to get the triple, then in the fourth the HR.

danman31
Great start, but before we get excited look at the ERAs of the pitchers he has faced.
bighurt4life
On his 3rd hit Beckham thrown out trying to stretch it into a double. He's also had two double plays and a throwing error. He's doing it all tonight!
scenario
QUOTE (danman31 @ Aug 15, 2008 -> 07:09 PM) Great start, but before we get excited look at the ERAs of the pitchers he has faced. And starter Michael Felix did himself no favors today... 6 earned runs in 0.0 innings... That'll screw up the 'ol ERA.
bighurt4life
Just noticed that Justin Greene has been called up to Kannapolis from Bristol after playing well there.

JPN366
QUOTE (BearSox @ Aug 16, 2008 -> 12:20 AM) Anyone know what Omogrosso's stuff is like? JPN? He's missed a lot of time this year with a weird injury that he told me about a few weeks ago. He was having lingering blister issues for the first few months of the season including two DL trips. It turned out, according to Brian, that he had a tumor in his finger that was causing the problem. It was harmless and it was removed, he showed me the scar. He was recently activated from his third DL stint. Stuff-wise, he has a fastball that touches 96 and a pretty wicked slider, not sure what else he throws, maybe a change-up. He has a motion similar to Bronson Arroyo, high leg kick in the wind-up, no leg kick in the stretch. And, he always runs on and off the field. Also, a very nice guy. Started the season off as the 5th starter, but is now pitching in relief. Edited August 16, 2008 by JPN366
Chisoxfn
QUOTE (BearSox @ Aug 15, 2008 -> 11:20 PM) Anyone know what Omogrosso's stuff is like? JPN? Very good velocity on his fastball. At least he has very good velocity of his fastball out of the pen (don't know what its like as a starter). Long term he does project as a potential set-up guy.
