shipps
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Aug 22, 2008 -> 08:45 AM) Youll be happy to know its still there. But this windy city grill place that was in Ogilvie Station by the Ethels closed a few years back. They had a great cheddar burger but such is life. What about "boowbun chikn yummy yummy you trwy".I used to get a kick out off them they wouldnt let me get the free samples anymore because i would go there everyday. easyw
I've worked in the Loop for over 10 years now - I don't go out to eat too often, beyond the chains , here are my picks: --Taza's or Haifa's for middle eastern --Venice Cafe (Sears Tower) --Pan Hel bakery in Greektown for the spinach pies --Arturo's --Pompeii If you are looking for a liquid lunch, there is no better spot than Cal's. HAHA, YES! He's still there. You can always spot the out of towners when they're walking by and have to stop and look at the asian guy yelling. Nitetrain, you seriously consider that McDonalds a good lunch spot? The only benefit to that one, opposed to any other within the downtown area, is your food is about guaranteed fresh because of all the workers. Aside from that, the prices are ridiculous and I'm positive it keeps increasing everytime I go in. What's the name of the restaurant/bar that's located in the main hall? I've been there a few times and like their food
LosMediasBlancas
What I remember is feeling like there weren't many lunch options downtown, especially places for a quick lunch. I got really burnt out and starting packing a lunch.

Try some of the pastries for dessert. Louis cookies and the coconut cookies dipped in chocolate are excellent. Their bread is great to take home for dinner, too. southsider2k5
I don't believe the Billy Goat has gotten a mention yet either... Gotta have that double/triple cheeseburger. Also underrated is their Ribeye sandwich on Mondays.
