Mora, Rios, and Ibanez have had pretty solid days.

i know you are fathom, but hte rest of soxtalk should collectively be rooting against the redsox more than we are...

Juan drives the walk. I'd also like to point out his gold glove defense, which is something that was much needed given how s***ty the defense had been playing.

Seeing OC's "GG defense" this season makes me appreciate Uribe's defense in his time with the Sox.

OC has been much better lately than his first 2 months though, but overall i agree uribe was a better defender

Bases juiced for Q. Hawk is calling Barton stupid, but you know what, he made the right play. Barton just made a bad throw. A good first baseman should do that every time, imo. Especially when you are already down 6 (you can't afford to give up more).

We were spoiled...Juan is the best defensive SS in baseball.

I'm not sure I would go that far...but definitely top five. He always looks a bit unorthodox with the way he catches the ball to the side...and he doesn't have superior range when he's a bit heavy, but that arm (just like with Jose Valentin) makes up for a lot of things.

When you look at it, we should have the best infield defense in the majors with Swisher at 1B and three SS's playing the left side of the diamond. Ramirez has made some silly mistakes in the last month, but he makes some simply incredible plays and Uribe has saved countless runs since Crede went down...and they were "big," momentum changing plays like Crede made in 05 in the post-season.

Why didn't Riggleman use Putz yesterday when that game was tied in the bottom of the 9th...too late now! Well, maybe they can get Nathan for 2, but I'm not counting on it. At least they'll face Oakland with a sense of unease, as they were really lucky to hold on these last two games. We just have to hope Justin D. can sneak out of there with at least one victory. Maybe they can start Ziegler???

Remember when we were so pumped that Paulie got RBI 100 in Detroit right at the end of the season in 2005. On a HR on that Thursday clincher I think. I always think about that when I see CQ about to break 100.

Funny you say that about milestones... I was thinking yesterday about when Kielty homered during the last weekend of the season to cost Buehrle 20 wins.
