fathom
I have to say this...Gio's start today might have been the worst I've seen against the Sox in a long time.
jphat007
QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 17, 2008 -> 02:44 PM) Funny you say that about milestones... I was thinking yesterday about when Kielty homered during the last weekend of the season to cost Buehrle 20 wins. Yours are more depressing than mine. Chisoxfn
I certainly wasn't impressed with his "stuff". Than again, I was never a huge Gio backer. Him, Fields, & Anderson were three prospects that I typically ripped. I always liked Sweeney (had doubts about him ever developing power but figured if he would he'd be an all star and if he didn't he'd be a solid player). Sweeney always reminded me a bit of Shawn Green.

Chisoxfn
Anyone else really excited about Paulie's resurgence? Getting him back is what will put the Sox over the top, imo. Its like they are going from the worst first baseman in baseball to one of the better ones (He's been looking pretty darn good, imo). Definitely looking healthy again. Chisoxfn
Wow, I've actually seen Javy throw some pitches inside today. Real shock that with him doing that he's given up 0 runs through 3/2/3's.

Chisoxfn
Nasty curve. This is awesome...Javy and Paulie getting there s*** together for the stretch run. Those two playing like they can is a massive boost and could make the Sox a world series caliber team.
kwolf68
Javy's a huge key to the stretch run and his performance today and in the last game is quite encouraging.
Chisoxfn
QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 17, 2008 -> 12:48 PM) Nope, I'm annoyed he's doing well. Hopefully Swisher can continue to slowly improve. He's easily been the biggest dissapointment of anyone on the Sox. I made a massive mistake when I thought he'd really improve moving from that pitchers park to the cell. jphat007
Only 3 teams in the AL have a negative run differential. That boggles my mind

joejoesox
going to try my hardest to make at least one of these games on the homestand coming up, and i will start the MVP chants if they aren't started already i'm actually surprised they didn't start in the last home series every CQ at bat needs MVP chants at home now

That boggles my mind should be 4 by the end of this game...but that really tells you how well the AL played vs. the NL in interleague, the NL is such a joke...look at how well the guys who switched from AL to NL have done...i mean seriously that league is littered with players who are performing above average for their league, that got run out of the AL or were scrubs
Chisoxfn
Paulie just missed that. Still he's seeing the ball well and looks so much more comfortable at the plate. Griffey's going yard right here.
