joejoedairy
Great game to be at Great performance by Richard I tried starting MVP chants for CQ but nobody joined which was odd Richard shutting down seattle in the cell is more impressive than broadway shutting down kc in their stadium but we'll see who gets the ball next time. southsider2k5
QUOTE (TLAK @ Aug 19, 2008 -> 09:24 PM) Just in from the game. I can't put my finger on who Richard reminds me of. He's got more stuff than Hibbard, less than Bahnsen...Lots of heart and a triple A fast ball....Sirotka? After the goof on Icharo in the first I thought we were in for a long night. But the kid pitched better than I ever supposed he would. One night doesn't make a career but he showed me somthin tonight. How many guys in AAA have a fastball that hits 94-95? I think that was the most impressive thing the kid has, is the ability to add and subtract from his pitches already. We need to get him sitting next to Mark Buehrle on a regular basis to teach him about controling nerves and emotions during a game, but other than that, this kid has some moxie. He doesn't really seem afraid out there.

I'm surpised, watching him live without seeing the gun, even his best ones didn't look that hard, very deceptive. Very effective.

During his first start vs the Rangers they said he was reaching 96-97, not consistently, but he hit it a few times

Between the delivery and the fact he can drop the fastball down to the 87-88 range without a change in his delivery, its has to be tough to expect him to get it up there pushing 95mph. If I hadn't have seen the velocity numbers on TV, I wouldn't have believed it either.

Unless you look at the gun you wouldnt believe he is throwing that hard
