Exactly. I was disappointed the Sox did not end up playing the Yankees (and Cardinals to a lesser extent) in 2005 postseason. It was a little muted but some outlets insinuated the Sox lucked out by the Angels taking care of the Yankees. I wanted the Sox to knock off all the so-called baseball royalty along the way.

Which to me is silly because we eliminated the previous year's World Series winner in 3 games in the first round.

I can see it now "How will the Yanks and the Red Sox do in 2009!!!!"

"Oh and the Chicago White Sox won the World Series today....."

You're joking, but I distinctly remember watching Sportscenter the night the Sox polished off the WS victory. They had their live panel with Gammons & Co. reporting from Houston and after their obligatory discussion on the actual world series, they quickly looked forward to 2006 and noted who the oddsmakers were favoring and dickhead Berman noted when Yankees-Red Sox would be upon us. It was almost as if he was waiting for order to be restored and for people to focus on what is important.

Yeah, but without ex-Yankee El Duque, it was inevitable that Boston would have won Game 3 and gone on to take the next two games as well.

Yeah, I taped that piece when I was going apesh!t. Only Gammons gave the Sox any props whatsoever (He picked them to win the whole thing before the playoffs started if I remember right). He was the only one on the panel that focused on what happened that night, the rest was garbage.

I'm still waiting for Tampa Bay to fall apart.

I figured once Longoria and Crawford were out they would struggle and slip in the standings.

Crawford is definitely gone until at least October, but I had heard that Longoria would probably be back next month. With Baldelli partially helping to overcome the loss of Crawford, I think that they'll be OK. But if the Sawks lose Beckett for an extended period of time, I could definitely see the Sox or Twins taking the WC.

IIRC Gammons picked the White Sox to win on the ESPN website, and picked the Red Sox to win on television(or vice versa)

People actually give a s*** about ESPN? I use it for highlights and to watch the WSOP and I don't watch or take anything seriously from them anymore. I haven't in probably a year. I'll catch it for s***s and giggles now and then, but that's about it.

Ditto.
