Mathew
At the end of the day, the team will likely be 5.5 games behind Kansas City, withlike 75 freaking games left. s*** happens, deal with it. The padres have beaten L.A. 9 times this year already, I hope L.A. fans aren't throwing themselves off bridges like some people here seem ready to do. We CAN'T afford to be losing these games..we're 3 games under the .500 mark and 5 games back....If we were 20 games over the.500 mark and had a 7 or 8 game lead in the division then we can maybe afford the be a little lackluster once in awhile...US?!?! We can't...We must win, win Win, WIN, and WIN some more...We have to get over that .500 mark

greg775
Here's why: We are under .500 and playing like s*** against the two worst teams in the league. That indicated a problem, a big problem. Either we don't have the talent or we have the wrong mental frame of mind and don't care. That is why we are jumping off bridges. Our pitching has been good enough to win all the games we've played in the last 2 series. It's cause we're sick of this lifeless brand of baseball. Look up underachieving in dictionary and you get the white sox.
southsider2k5
people think we will win the WS after a win, and that we are the worst team ever when we lose. The freaking out is normal for Sox fans.

chosk8
In all honesty, I have come to expect this type of play from the Sox as they simply refuse to take control of this division. But the fact is that the way all the teams in this division play, September will decide this division. With 7 games apiece against the Twins and KC in September, that will decide our fate. Avoid yourselves some frustration and come back in September and the standings will be very much as you left them. I love this team(not this particular team, but the Sox in general) too much not to watch, but for those who cannot handle your heart being broken time and time again, take this advise and come back in September. I'm not even that positive but for the season to be finished in people's minds before the All Star game is insane. I don't ever give up. I get frustrated but I know this team can do it. The talent is there, I think they are selfish and such. Thank goodness I'm back to working on a new minor league feature. Thinking about the dissapointment in the Sox makes me sick. Like I've said for a while this team is great on paper, but they have to take that paper and throw it in the trash and play their games on the field no matter how bad a team is. greg775
Why can't everybody accept the fact we are underachieving so much that heads should roll? Yeah we are happy after our victories, but we are the biggest underachievers in the game right now on the hitting front. Our pitching has been acceptable. I applaud our pitching. Mark B, Esteban, Jon, etc., are doing well except for botch. but we are underachieving at the plate, and yes, heads should roll.

CubKilla
They are paid to perform. Funny. Graffanino reportedly stated that a letdown was almost a guarantee before this road trip according to the SCORE. Maybe he meant losing 1 out of each series as the letdown . Putz. Soxplosion
I agree. This is only one game. 20-1 or 2-1, it dont matter. Its a loss. But unfortunately, it aint the only loss. Weve lost several times to poor teams and thats unacceptable...
DonkeyKongerko
Its not one game of 162. It's one game that tells the story of whats happened this entire season minus about 2 weeks of great baseball. Here are some lowlights: 5-4 loss to KC White blew 4-3 corpseball loss to detroit 8-5 loss to KC Koch blew 5-4 loss to Baltimore Gordon blew 3-2 loss to Minny Gordon blew 3-2 loss to Detroit (Maroth's first win) 1-0 loss to Detroit (Knotts' 2nd win) 3 game SWEEP in Cleveland mostly corpseball 1-0 pathetic loss to San Diego (this one really pissed me off) 4-3 loss to TB Koch blew 3-2 loss to TB Corpseball 2-1 loss to Detroit corpseball 4-2 loss to Detroit corpseball (Bonderman's 3rd win) Some of these games were all on Koch. But alot of these games are games that should be won. One game tells the story of a season of uninspired corpseball losses. The list was stuck on San Diego for me until Koch blew that game in TB, that seemed to open the floodgates. How many teams that make the playoffs have a list of this many losses to teams of the likes of Detroit, San Diego, Baltimore, and Cleveland?
