bighurt4life
Morel has another HR tonight. He's finally found his power stroke after going homerless for about his first 150 professional at bats

Kalapse
Another 0'fer for Joe Crede, this time 0-4 (couple of groundouts, couple of popouts), he's now 0-12 overall.
BlackBetsy
QUOTE (BlackBetsy @ Aug 22, 2008 -> 08:19 PM) Beckham is 0 for 2. Bust? Beckham 1 for 5, his hit won it for the Intimidators.

Maybe Paulie could give him some pointers on how to hit AAA pitching
scenario
Winston-Salem won 1-0 in 11 innings. Sergio Miranda hit a single in the bottom of the 11th for the walk-off win.
JPN366
Big BA with a walk off solo homerun in the bottom of the 9th to cap the last regular season home game. He absolutely clobbered it. It was a no doubter before he even made contact. Miguel Negron was announced as team MVP and Jon Link was pitcher of the year for B'ham. Speaking of Negron...a direct quote from him at his b'day party last night (Puerto Rican accent implied)... "It doesn't matter who the starting pitcher is, it doesn't matter what team, it doesn't matter what city, we're going to destroy them. We're going to win it all." Also, I find it fascinating that Birmingham, Winston-Salem, and Kannapolis ALL had walk-off wins tonight. Can't recall that happening too often. Jeter had 56 errors in 128 games at Greensboro (SAL) in 1993. Relax.
NorthSideSox72
Nice to see 3 of my AAP's do well. Shirek with a nice outing, Dubler has been on fire lately (8 for his last 23 with 2 doubles and 7 RBI), and Miranda with a walk-off winning hit (he's 6-for-14 with a double, 2 RBI, a walk and no strikeouts since his promotion to W-S). So, Cole Armstrong has filled in nicely for Donny Lucy at Charlotte. Hitting near .300, has good defensive skills. Any chance he is the backup C next year? Hall is on an option next year I believe. He is only 17 playing with players who are probably on avg 3-5 years older than he is so I'm not too worried about it just yet

Would seem to make sense, but the fact that he's left-handed might work against him. I'd guess that the Sox would like AJ's backup to be right-handed to give them more situation flexibility. May not be a big issue, but... Edited August 23, 2008 by scenario

Hall is on an option next year I believe. doubt it as he is a lefty... but I would not mind seeing Hall as far away from the white sox as possible after this season and having someone who doesn't suck as our backup. Besides for his "hot" start, he has been s***. And even when he was getting base hits, they weren't even hit hard, but rather little bloopers or grounders finding the holes. Even today, his little grounder that stayed fair should have been a double, but was only a single. If he turns that into a double, that whole inning could be different. Plus, he provides pretty crappy D. You'd think for a guy who is 6'2", 250+, he could hit for a little power. I liked this signing when it was first made, but I was dead wrong about it.
