Obama Names His VP

This is how pathetic our politics have gotten:

McCain issues a statement on the Obama "next president... Vice-President" slip-

U.S. Senator John McCain's presidential campaign today issued the following statement from Ben Porritt, McCain spokesman:

"Barack Obama sounded as though he turned over the top spot on the ticket today to his new mentor, when he introduced Joe Biden as the next president. The reality is that nothing has changed since Joe Biden first made his assessment that Barack Obama is not ready to lead. He wasn't ready then and he isn't ready now."

That's damn pathetic. Really? Off all the tings you can attack on, you attack on this?

Now to be fair, maybe he decided to not veto those beers and was indeed drunk when this statement was issued. ;)

How's that pathetic exactly? That's pretty much to be expected.

the media coverage about how he said "the next presid, vice president of the united states" was ridiculous.

Yes everyone, Barack was really just a Biden strategy to win the presidency.

Oh that. I didn't really pay any attention to the media coverage because it was aimed at people whose IQs were below 75.

No, we just laugh when he says he'll deliver hot water to dehydrated babies or veto beer, we don't expect stupid s*** like that to be front page news.

I wont blast mccain for a verbal mistake. i have no problem with poking fun at someone. but releasing pressers is dumb from a campaign. i didnt see Obama claim that McCain favors reinstating prohibition because he said he'd veto beer.

RNC Launches Biden Gaffe Clock

The Republican National Committee (RNC) launched a new clock today counting the time until Sen. Joe Biden’s next gaffe.

Just 12 hours after being chosen as Barack Obama’s running mate, Biden made his first gaffe at 3:31 p.m. EDT. The RNC’s new clock will count the hours, minutes and seconds until Biden’s next slip up on the campaign trail.

Really?????

If the DNC launched a McCain gaff clock, it'd have to rest every few hours. This is childish and petty.

I agree its childish and petty, but frankly, you've been pouncing on every McCain gaffe with that same gusto.

Actually not. Not over stupid stuff liek this. I wouldnt start a gaff counter. There's a difference between making an excited verbal mistakes and not knowing the difference between the various Iraqi sects.

I absolutely reserve the right to poke fun. Heck, I'll poke fun at Obama from time to time.

and once again, there's a difference between a message board and the party's web site. The inability for so many posters to differentiate the two is pretty funny.

Yeah, Obama's website does more adult things like try to sel tickets to the convention that are advertising as free. Sounds like something the Cubs would do.

Frankly I disagree on this one. I think the "gaffe" clock is a decent idea. Tries to tarnish Biden a bit, focuses the media a bit more if he makes a big one, reinforces a "loose cannon" myth. Would have been a reasonable thing to do to the current fool in 2000.

Obama also introduced Biden as "the next President" until he caught himself. :lolhitting

I saw that one on TV. This is going to be one crazy election.

I said nothing of the party website. I fail to see your point.

And after the last 8 years...I'd say we've earned it.

Yes, I know, RSO the Messiah, the GREAT RSO, all knowing and all seeing, will fix it all for us. He's going to talk to everyone in the world, make them respect us, and gosh darn it, get us our "respectability" back, whatever the hell that is. If Europe loves him then doggoneit, we should too.

There's just no hope anymore. I guess RSO forgot to raise his hand when he asked if HE was better off then with GWB took office. :lolhitting

(Note: GWB has been HIGHLY disappointing. But not disappointing enough to bring in a borderline socialist as the leader of my country - and before you say I'm being Kaperbole ™ over again, which to some extent I am, just wait. I'll prove my point later with RSO's own words - I've finally decided to "get involved").

I just don't f***ing trust John McCain. One bit. I don't trust that he won't further f*** things up in the Middle East, especially in relation to Iran.

I hear you, and that lingers in my mind but I also think that "talking" to them is a waste of time without the backup to "walk the talk".

Yep. And, he's going to talk our way to greatness, because history shows THAT works. There is a middle ground, somewhere, and RSO isn't it. I'm not saying McCain is, either.
