JoeBatterz
My fondest memory of Karko was attending a game and seeing his batting average on the scoreboard as it read .071. I think this was in late May or early June too. Have to give him credit for perseverance.
Buehrle>Wood
Has there ever been a worse player who spent 10+ straight years with a club?

shipps
My fondest memories of Karko was a time me and my buddy were watching the sox in his front room and it was a blow out game.We were winning like 10-1 and we barely cheered for the Sox the whole game cause they were out of the race. But for some reason my buddy felt this sudden rush of excitement when Kark hit a HR even though it was a blowout in a meaningless game,he jumped out of his seat throwing up his hands and shattered the light fixture above sending glass crashing to the ground.I still LOL to this day when I think about it. knightni
Karko wasn't horrible, he just had a bad batting average. He got 20 HRs one year. His biggest accomplishment was his catching behind the plate. The man had the lightning arm of Zeus. He threw out 41% of all runners who ran on him. That's the few who even tried to steal. In my opinion, he's second only to Ivan Rodriguez in catching arm, since 1985.
BigEdWalsh
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 25, 2008 -> 01:45 PM) Has there ever been a worse player who spent 10+ straight years with a club? As far as defense goes he was pretty darn good. And I think as a backup catcher he was great to have. The problem arose when he became the #1 catcher. He was just too light-hitting for that. Anyway, good article!
ptatc
One of the funniest plays I ever witnessed was an inside the park HR by Karko. He wasn't that bad of a player. Great defensively, a little pop and a really good guy.
