Has there been coformation Bowden is in fact getting the start?

MLB.com has him as the probable pitcher tomorrow night.

Red Sox: Having a vacated roster spot after moving both Sean Casey and Josh Beckett to the disabled list on Friday, the Sox called up Bowden from Triple-A Pawtucket during the course of their victory Friday over the White Sox. This will be Bowden's Major League debut, having gone 0-3 for the PawSox and 9-4 for Double-A Portland this season.

And I just read on SoSH that they have said on NESN that Bowden will start the game tomorrow.

Well to be fair he has been one of the best pitchers in baseball this season, it wasn't exactly a case of Cy-Mays or Cy-Nonameasshat.

Didn't really expect to win this one, lets just hope the offense shows up against Bowden tomorrow night.

i won't disagree with anything you said. it was a bad matchup from the very beginning. allowed 10 HR all year, facing a team that lives and dies by the homerun

i'm still upset with the lack of base hits, and overall lack of patience at the plate facing a guy who walks a ton of guys. our hitters always seem to be of the mindset that the pitcher is always going to strike them out unless they swing the bat. matsuzaka isn't one of those guys... need to have smarter at-bats.

also i would've liked to have seen Javy have a good outing, he was just bad, then really really good, then absolutely brutal.. wtf is up with this guy.

Great. We get to face an pitcher making his MLB debut. Knowing our history, we won't get a hit until the 7th. Could be another long game.

That is always a concern with this team for sure. But, I think it has been a bit different this year. I think we have had better success against these first timers

Well, this is my first and only White Sox game this year. And, of course, it had to be Vazquez on the mound. I sure don't hate him less today than I did before. Also, as the other thread mentioned, we can't beat good teams.

I believe Matsuzaka has averaged like 5 IP per start this year. Not surprisingly, he goes 8 strong against us.

EDIT: I RUE the day we acquired Vazquez.

We lost 8-0.

Wasn't much Javy or anyone else was going to do about that.

Are you saying that, because the offense didn't score, that Vazquez is not at fault at all for the loss? He gave up 5 runs.

I would've liked to see him pitch better; that being said, we were overmatched last night.

Just doesn't make much sense in constantly picking at your old scabs over this one...

I find it interesting that anytime Javy has a less than stellar game, people come out the woodworks to roast his entire career.

Consider that...

Javy has given up 4 or fewer runs in 20 out of his 27 starts this year. The most runs he has given up in any start this year is 6. In other words, there haven't been any situations this year where a good offensive team should be out of a game because of Javy. And he's pitched 4 outstanding (not good... outstanding) games that he lost because the Sox didn't score s**t. So, he should be 14-10 this year, not 10-12.

This following up 2007 where he was one of the best and most consistent starters in the American League and 15-8 on a team with one of the worst records in baseball.

I'm not suggesting that he's Cy Young, just fascinated that a guy who been a much better than league average starter for the Sox continues to catch so much crap.

Let me start by saying that I always make a point to post when Vazquez does well. Second, he had to have those outstanding games just to get his ERA down to 4.38. And you bring up 2007, which is the funny part because that is his MO. He pitches well only when there is no pressure on him. I've been over this a million times.
