well, know this - it obviously wasn't picked up on x-ray, which means the fracture must be slight if it is indeed a fracture. They could only see it on MRI. And it appears that he was able to swing a bat and throw a ball with the injury, so it could be a 4-6 week thing where he stabilizes it in a cast.

great imput! I was just thinking that, the dude was just missing homeruns and still getting big hits in Boston playing with the injury. The dude will be back just in time for the playoffs if we make it. I garuntee that.

This means more of Brian Anderson- this guy has shown to hit the ball this year and his defense is still stellar, if anything our defense will be there the rest of the way.

Griff in left, b/c you need to go for the kill against Minn.

If we had the pitching, i might agree w/ you. But we need to let Uribe be the hole in our lineup. We dont want two.

No, it doesn't. If anything it probably means more of Jerry Owens.

I am seeing a Kirk Gibson-type walk-off in the playoffs.

BA's BA is .236...but check this out: OBP is .273

in a race for the division, that could mean:

His playing time has been extremely erratic and every time he has started I think he has been a really good player. Players with spot time like he has been dont usually hit for high averages. But I can think of more than a few times that BA has been more than adequate filling in for Swisher or Griffey, he has had some key hits and big homeruns this year.

This is kind of what I'm thinking.

It cant be worst case scenario fracture if he was still doing that stuff. Unless this slamming-the-bat thing really had an impact.

Honestly, I am still MORE worried about Danks' sudden fall-off and apparent tiredness.

If we win this year it's with nonstop HRs in the playoffs and adequate pitching.

Pitching can still be adequate w/o Danks, especially if Javy keeps up what he's doing.

But looking at our Game Log on espn, all the recent W's for the white sox happen to have twos and what not in the Hit column for Quentin.

it's a good point about the erratic playing time, but i just dont think that swing has tightened up enough.

i'd agree if i didnt think he was a really fundamentally flawed hitter. needs to overhaul that thing still.

I love how its "seriously" injured on the page, like he had a heart attack or a massive fracture of his back.

He a beast and tweaked his wrist a little. If he's out for a few weeks healing, you move the order around, move Paulie up, put Swish or Griff in LF and BA patrols center. Lets finish strong.

Bruce Levine confirms Quentin is out for the season.

So he's in tonight's line-up?

Seriously, Quentin getting drilled as much as he does really elevates the possibility of this type of thing happening. Its the one thing you have to be concerned about with him, and its been in earlier threads. He needs as much armour as possible from here on out, unless he's going to change his approach.
